1.
check this out... http://ironether.com/pedals/frantabit/ my dog ran out the room when I put this on!
Don't blame him
 2.
Post always.
Good man
 3. Actually there's a thought. Next time you do one of those Compression chats can you record it please
 4.
You could really do with explaining phase alignment between the mic and the DI, otherwise its pot luck as to whether your two signals are in phase or not. Not in phase == no bass....
You know, the whole time I was at uni not once did someone mention that. It makes perfect sense as soon as I read it but I'm just shocked it never came up.
 5. Bass guitars page you mention the Jazz bass is the industry standard. I would put the PBass on par if not infront, could be worth a mention.
 6.
To be honest the compression explaination is a tad, well, limited..... And a cookie cutter 'use these sounds to get a decent sound' approach isnt going to work (you dont know at what level they recorded the bass at for one thing, or what technique they used) Its a website's worth of info on its own unfortunately!
You should know unfortunately I missed the famous speech though. I was too busy A/B'ing in the other room
 7. I'll try and read a page a day . On homepage I'd add a few bits: -Tools for setting up and restringing the bass -Spare strings/batteries/cables not essential until you need them but when you need them you NEED them... -Certain condensers need phantom power or battery (could be worth a mention on the home page) -I think Protools should definitely get a mention on the DAW's You could go for the semi serious stuff such as snacks etc too though
 8.
A little update. My favourite thing to do now is use my Sansamp in front of the TC with my recording setting and tweak the TC for the room like a having a very good EQ pedal.. I quite like the compressor. Think it works well on low dial settings. The portability of an the Classic and an RS112 for rehearsals is great. I'm still loving the fact when I turn up for a PA gig the DI just works really well. Next gig up I'm not going through the PA and I'm looking forward to releasing the OTB on the audience. I like this having two amps thing.
Do you DI pre or post EQ? Im a post kinda guy meself
 9.
It *might* just be a 4 & 8 twin neck but when I mentioned it in passing to Alan at Bassday, he blanched and suddenly found John East's kamikazi pre-amps absolutely fascinating thereby terminating that particular conversation. We'll see...
Don't forget to add fan frets Or how about being able to switch between pre-amps flick of the switch and you drop the ACG filter and move to... Your choice
 10. There's a flaw in it. If you have a 1:1 ratio of electrics & acoustics you may only have two guitars. What about backups for gigging?
 11.
I doubt it was another cab, why would you when there are 7 to mic on the stage? He had no amp heads visible anymore either. The emulator sounds more likely to me good call.
They could have put the cab in an isolated room to reduce the risk of any feedback and for the opportunity to use mic techniques which wouldn't be plausible on stage, like a mic 6 foot from the cab.
 12. How many of you TC guys now live here on basschat? I'm not complaining or anything by the way!
 13. Stick with it, if you can do it on your own you can do it with others (oooer). My usual advice is sit in a dark room, lights off (oooer again...) and see if you can still play (oooer....ffs) /Innuendo Post
 14.
He may well have changed his rig/tech guy/sound guy/requirements, but he's the star he gets what he wants. There are many ways to skin a cat after all. For all we know theres another cab off stage dedicated to being mic'ed up (it happens)
I was thinking this.
 15. I saw that, it's quite impressive that a mic that size can take the thump tbh. That's actually pretty much how I tend to EQ my bass
 16.
Zvex fuzz factory has many levels of craziness. If you can solder you can also build one cheaply: http://www.musikding...m-fuzz-kit.html I've done it. Well worth it, especially if you're looking for mad sounds.
They missed a trick not installing the option for expression pedals on that.
 17. Lower gauge = less tension if I read this right.
 18.
Well thats certainly changed, he used to use a DI before his effects, one after his effects and a mic on one of the 10" cones.... He used to use Shure SM98 mics on the cones, which are ickly tiny capsules, so its certainly possible that you could miss one.
Flea sized mics for Flea?
 19. I would tend to doubt that Beedsters symptoms were related to a mySQL database. Problems with any kind of database tend to be consistent. The only scenario I could see that being the case is if Beeds problems are coming all at similar times of day which happen to coincide with a hefty SQLjob that is running.
 20.
I have had me a looksee at those supposed wonder planks, the Auralex gramma pad. They seem so simple to make i am going to have to have a go. So. It's just a bit of chipboard/MDF with a bit of old carpet on top, and two runners on the bottom which are padded with thick foam (like the tough stuff you get to kneel on not the kind they used to stuff armchairs with) So is that it ? Because if it is, I can knock one up in 30 minutes tomorrow morning and let you know how it goes.? If it works I will be namimg them the Dazzlex gramma pads and flogging them for half of what Aurelex sell them for.
I was actually thinking the same not too long back and I'm not exactly what you would call "handy"
 21. Done all the usual? Checked the cables etc? Just thought it should be mentioned good luck, sorry I can't be of more help
 22.
I had a number on mine marked "Good", then it went to "Excellent"; since the new reputation system started the number has increased but I've been relegated to "Good" again. You can be notiofied in your settings to get an email every time someone "approves" you.
I saw that, Skanks is really high but still only good as well.
Someone shouted to Akerfedlt "WE WANT TO MOSH" to which he responded "You want to mosh? I used to do that when I was a teenager. It's f@cking stupid. Go listen to Anthrax if you want to mosh". Maybe that sums up the audience there, I dunno.
Love that! I love people getting into the music but prefer jumping etc to moshing by a country mile
