1. Had a similar thing with my old band except it was Dave Ellefson vs James Lomenzo. Huge respect for both guys but always preferred Ellefsons playing. I got called a loser repeatably for that, then Ellefson rejoined Megadeth = Happy Charic
2. Time for the daily bump! Come on guys we really want another band on the bill if we can get it I might buy you a pint *disclaimer - pint of lager or bitter or drink of equal value. For one person only, can not be traded in for cash alternative
3. Nothing helpful to say other than they do look tasty don't they! I think it's Lakland that I'm now wary of (due to the questionable alignment) so Sandy would be my choice
4. Oh yeah, Red5 is a great coming to check out for budget style mics too! I think its red5 anyway (it may have been 7 or some other number )
5. Sounds good to me, the cymbals were a little high for me but very easily bearable (just about 3:30ish as I noticed it). Bass sounds fine on my crappy in ears as do the kick and snare (although I felt the snare sounded a little "flat" to begin with and could've done with a bit more crack to it)
6.
You can still get the odd real 70s P for that can't you?
Maybe... but it wont be new will it!
7. Is phantom power on? Or is it battery powered? If so, new battery. Failing that either the cable. Failing that your mics dead.
8.
Hey Charic! - I have to admit that I'm not really replacing it with anything! - I've been using less and less effects in this particular system and have really been enjoying just using a distortion pre / EQ combination straight in to my LH head. a pedal to boost for solos etc. However I am looking at a floor unit that I will use for teaching and workshops and a project that I am doing without the need for a rack system. Oh.. and I need a couple of combos for teaching with!
In which case good luck with the sale. Hopefully I'll be able to pop over for an intensive lesson soon(ish) as my band are just about to start gigging!!!
9.
Awww you little monkey you! I managed to divert my GAS elsewhere whilst I was talking to Molan about the Staccato! - I'm sure it'll just get worse if they bring out a Staccato 750!!
I take your staccato750 and raise you the staccatosmith
10. I didn't realise they did another bass that looks like the Rapture.... Nommy!
11. I think I've tried the 6'er of this but I didn't get on with it at all. But then I hate Ibenii (Ibanezeses?) with a passion too.
12. Find a dep? If he can't play a gig use the dep. Sooner or later if he doesn't buck up then he will effectively be the dep. Just finding the drummer is the issue.
13. They best watch their backs.. from what I heard recently anything with iInsertuppercaseletterandnamehere could end up being chased by the iPlods
14. I'm starting to really love the RH450 at volume although it is a bit lacking in the highs at lower volume. I just need a 2nd RS210 now!!! (Dont tell the mrs but I might have the money soon )
15.
But I love jazz!
In which case expect Multiple mistakes such as "distortion" "overdrive" and "shouting"....
16.
I'll be there in a non-playing capacity :-)
In a judging every single mistake I make kinda way
17. Great influences! Very similar to my current band. London is a bit far for me for a band but if you ever need a support band give me a shout!
18. I don't have the spare pennies at the moment and the next bunch is on a second cab However I am curious whats replacing this?
19. Gonna keep bumping this up surely someone want a gig in Cambridge
20.
Ask John Myung about his basses - despite his reputation for being incredibly quiet, he wouldn't stop talking when I asked him how the Ernie Ball was working out.
Noted!!! Shame the RBX6JM is too heavy to cart about, would love to get his sig on it. Will fire an email to VIP nation about the party
21. Diaphragm Mics can be damaged easily so test before you buy! Rode stuff can be pretty nice. I've not experimented but a boundary Mic may work better. I'd honestly recommend atleast two mics though.
22. I like playing on my gear. I have nice gear I hope I have nice playing /Ramble
