Lightweight or D class amp that sounds like a Valve amp

I live roughly 30-40minutes from cambridge. If you would like to give the RH450 a try give me a shout -
I wrote the intro riff for newborn (on piano) years before it was released
-
Not usually a fan of Rics but that ain't alf bad. Congrats
-
The Line6 110 is a great little amp with the DI out aswell allowing for practices
-
£800 for learning and home use only seems a little bit steep IMHO. I'd spend £200-£300 which will get you a home/practice/rehearsal rig until you have need of anything more.

The dremmel is on amazon. Just to say a quick thanks to everyone but I have decided to yield to finances and put this particular ambition on hold.
-
Looking at the startup costs I am starting to think this may have to go on hold. Trying to save for a house is a git!

Andy that's great! If you start looking into this aswell please pitch in. I'm just sorting the shopping list now. Which I will post up in it's completeness before I go begging for bits for my birfdy Thanks for your help SteveO, how long do your router bits tend to last?
-
Thanks SteveO, I'm not looking into doing basses/guitars for a looong time. Which Dremmel are you using out of interest? Thanks for the tip radius tip... confusing line

Ok first set of research turned up an old thread where I had previously asked these sort of questions (thread here: Inlay Thread ) Also turned up a great site for materials : Small Wonder Inlays Final thought for the moment. Routers... This one is looking like a likely candidate at the moment: Dremel 4000 Any cheaper but just as / good enough options?

Just got back from a day out on trips to music shops. Popped into live music and picked up 3 timbre tones picks. Very nice they are too! Currently £2 in live music. Also popped into the guitar lounge and all I can say is go for a visit. Absolutely blown away by some of the gear in stock. Especially a custom overwater 6'er! Major GAS right now!

Well I decided a few years back I fancy learning to inlay. Yes I know it's difficult Yep it's probably going to be a bit pricey But it can involve pretty woods and shiny shells. That's enough for me. Idle hands and all that. So this thread will document my journey to fame or failure (actual fame or failure not guaranteed). Just starting on sources the tools so any tips on the equipment I'll need to get started? I don't need the best stuff but I don't want to need to replace it because it's rubbish either...
I don't mind it being tricky, I love wither, it would help if it kinda fit with wedding evening do's though...(should've mentioned that before )
For a wedding... Count of Tuscany is one my ff actually wants if we get married (not a metalhead) Best of times? Hollow years (although lyrics Probs not suitable) Images and words or falling into infinity would Probs do

I'm not sure I'd fancy trying to nail much aerosmith. Always struggled with that band, is it hand or do I just have a mental block going on?
we play all right now and i spent ages listening again and again to the outro bit... when the band suggested 'club tropicana' by wham I nearly called a cab but when I listened to it, the bassline is v v cool and took some time to work out and then sound slick, I love playing it now. 'my generation' has been mentioned and so has 'you can call me al'...am always up for a challenge! I'm still looking for a dream theater song we can use as the first in the second set to get people's attention back...
Withers not too tough (on bass)

Mine so far is AFPSY I feel left out

It comes down to what people are willing to lose on the 2nd sale and what people are willing to pay I guess. I know that my ACG is going nowhere anytime soon so I'm not going to make a loss on it although I have seen some going 2nd hand on here for similar to I paid for it new.
Never heard of them before - just listening to Blackout. Simply brilliant.
Probably my least favourtite track If you have spotify it's well worth a look

I meant to get round to writing that msg

Mate left a bass in the corner of the room and I started messing around on it, he showed me one tune. I then went home and for a solid month was spending 5+ hours a day playing bass. Learning using powertab

Live these guys really rocked! The Whip They were supporting The Music at the last ever gig (bloody brutal gig!). The basslines were catchy as! Yammy BB bass through an Ampeg stack! Epic sound.
It is a shame and had things worked out differently, it would have been my shop one day! However, the shop has faced massive competition from the internet etc but all is not lost, there is a brand new shop open already in Orton Southgate called The Guitar Lounge and a certain local pro bass player with at least 68 basses has opened a small but perfectly formed bass shop on the premises, where he teaches the noble art as well....I wonder who it could be?!! Take care fans! Nick
I'll have to pop in sometime!
