1. My choice: Check the BC marketplace for a 2nd hand custom (there's usually a few about in that range) Warwick G&L Check the BC marketplace again! ..Ibanez (I guess )
2. I think my choice would be the cherry or the ash
3.
Rosewood/Maple Sue Ryder neck. Do you mean like these: Wooden Pickguards That would actually look awesome! Especially on a bass which is going to be assembled for around £30!
Yep like them! They could look great IMHO
4. Thanks again EBC I will send out a few messages once I've worked out each individual part to be organised
5. I wonder what this would sound like paired with a TC RS210 and RH450
6. Natural wood like maple/ash/etc... Depends on the neck your adding too though
7.
Hope to make it to this one, with enough notice it'll be more than a year since I met up with some folks at the last SE bass bash. The East Anglia bash sounds like a nice social occasion, and it's in the neighbourhood too. Won't make it to the SE bash this year unfortunately, because my sister in her infinite wisdom has scheduled her wedding for the same weekend (I mean, who plans a wedding for the exact same day as a major event on any self-respecting bass players' calendar?? Who? WHO? ) A whole year without a bash.....crikey See you folks there. Ian
Hopefully will see you there
8.
Good man Charic Happy to help where I can. any thoughts on dates yet ?
I'm thinking Feb next year? Obviously with a gig etc we have much more to organise.
9. Any feedback / volunteers for any parts of this? I will probably start planning in anger sometime next week.
10. It sounds like the only thing they have in common is the shape
11.
And after several weeks of smooth, fast running tonight I have the same delays as before. I've tried to leave some feedback for Beedster six times now, and it's hung every time.
Maybe the system just doesn't believe you
12. Maybe start from scratch, pick up a song that you think is really easy and work up from there again, also maybe sit down with a teacher and just make sure your not making a glaring mistake. Otherwise just record more often and eventually it'll become second nature. Your probably overthinking it.
13. Maybe wizards just colour the sound a lot? I'm sure there are more 'transparent' sounding pickups out there :-)
14. Actually what about a wooden plate? If you have a rosewood fretboard then rosewood plate could look nice?
15. Abalone (If you want to be different), Pearl Black, Pearly White In that order for me (although we need pics to confirm)
16. If I won the euro I think I'd buy that and then get it road worn just to see peoples reactions. It's already ugly anyway
17. Thanks for reminding me! I keep meaning to get around to start "properly" organising this one although I know have a few more solid plans: Rough plan as it stands Stalls (shops etc advertising their wares ) hoping to get at least one luthier along too (if your interested in having a stall please drop me a PM) 10:00-14:00 Bass Bash as Usual (lets make some noise!!!) 14:00-15:00ish Sit down chat with a "name" bassist (not worked out who or how yet though had some ideas but one looks like it may of fallen through) 15:00-17:00 More Noise (and photo's) 17:00-18:00 Tidy up ... and set up (for what you ask???? Nosey gits ain't ya ) 19:00 Sound Check!!!! 20:00 - 00:00 Gig!!!!!!! (Hopefully starring multiple BC based bands, if you would like to be involved drop me a PM with a link to your band please) Venue may be the same although I need to do some thorough investigation, cost should be similar to last year (for the full day including the gig). Gig will hopefully be open to the public too (tickets on door). All profits to go to Nordoff Robbins I think that's the lot...
18. Just watch the BC marketplace I've seen shukers go for that on here!!!

Behringer

I'm not to worried about the reliability with them. Just never liked the sound. Their music tech stuff on the other hand just feels horrible to use...
20. I actually don't mind the looks at all tbh

Line6 Studio 110 (if you struggle for volume then plug the xlr out into the PA) and then you have a great home practice set up too
