1. Tried recording it yet and listening back? That was the recent eureka moment for me
2.
Mind you I got measurements beforehand, like you would with any far eastern bride
My ACG was obviously unplayed and my P bass was an internet order (saved £100) then spent £100 on a BAII and SD1/4lb total cost £450... What would it be now!?!?
3. Thanks for all the great ideas so far guys. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with the problem . I'll try some of these out tomorrow and up going to up the practice regime which has honestly been lacking for the past year or so. Also yes I definately love the music, infact I quite happily listen to it on the way to work. For some examples check out the guitarist site www.soundcloud.co.uk/deeteetwo (i think ) s42b, sands and the divine misanthropy are the tracks were currently using which are on there
4. I keep trying to put them away but I just draw blanks at really annoying moments. Occassionally its made me come up with a part I like though
5. Not a bad idea about trying to write them out again. That may work... The songs don't have a finalised set of lyrics yet so that wont work The problem I have is Im originally a keyboard player (yeah i know) and trained to sight read. So I'm used to doing that. Ill try rearranging the songs. Unfortunately for me theyre quite complex but that comes with the territory or proggish metal I guess...
6. I'm currently playing in a metal band and as usual my biggest problem is trying to remember the songs. I can play the majority just fine now but I still feel like a bit of an idiot having the score printed out infront of me. I need to get away from the sheets. Tips please
7. The angled bolts were quite interesting. Although I wonder why he doesn't just go neck thru if it's that big a deal to him.
8. He seems really passionate about it all. Very encouraging. That said at the moment I can't afford £300 for a bass let alone £2.5k. Is it worth that? I don't know I would approach it open minded though.
9. Shame it's a no pet policy where I live I need a kitty and an alsation... One day

11.
She (meaning me!) reads these from time to time No I'm not planning on extending the family! I was just curious (ok nosey) and Mr M didn't think many would reply. Plus I need some ideas of what 'bits and pieces' I can get him for b'day, christmas etc etc. ( oh I also know what most of the 'stuff' does generally ) Mrs Marvin xx
Busted!
12. What a price! If it wasn't for the desk I already own I would be all over this. Have a bump
13. What do you want to blend? Should you really be making foodstuffs on stage? ...Coat
14.
...but as a case in point I don't know many people who prefer to use the full Facebook site over the app, or at least the mobile version.
Me!! Using the browsers I do on my mobile it runs quicker than the app. The mobile version is just a PITA. I personally wouldn't use the system you are proposing (and probably wouldn't use the mobile theme) but it's definately worth the discussion.
15.
hey anybody tried these on small to medium sized gigs? can it really boost 300w on a single driver?
Yep!! It is monstrously loud (don't know if that's spelt right) I only turned it up to full once and part of a roof of a church fell in (luckily it was a VERY small part)!
16. The whole site works great on my HTC desire. My advice... ditch the iphone Also that talkbass app is an absolute pain to use in my experience.

action

Is it at the nut, bridge or on the fretboard?

Back to pedals

Isn't it better to have the possibilities there and not use them all?
19. I play in a prog-metal band now, my biggest fear was that I wouldn't be good enough. I joined and looked at the written basslines, learnt them & struggled with them then asked if they minded me editing them slightly. Now slightly simplified in most places (and more complex in others) and the songs have a LOT more punch! Just finished editing the bassline to a slower song which was really melodic but sounded really busy, now its simpler and really sticks out in the mix. Guitarist couldn't be happier! Good band this! Like others have said it's what the song demands not what you want to play.
20. Are you sure you don't want a brilliant MIM P-bass A sharpy marker can soon change where it's from Good luck with the sale, and no... the ACG is not up for trade
21.
Interesting stuff from http://pkeffects.com/ - would love to have a proper go with the Syn-the-si-zer.
Cheers for that! Just emailed asking how hard it was
22.
I nearly did actually Charic! I wanted to be able to get my basic signal path in to one box (well in theory at least) but I couldn't find out if it could handle dual signal paths - I gave up and when back to my hardware!
It can handle stereo so I can't see why not! I'm starting to shy away from this now based on the fact that it's the kind of thing I may play with for a couple of months and then just sell (probably at a massive loss). Also realised just how much work would be involved in making anything that was anything more than the most basic. Still a possibility but am very unsure on this one. Shame because theres a potential to (possibly) make some cash out of it too. Was going to try and make pedal to simulate the sound the bassist from muse gets.
23. Turn gain down and volume up. Does it change matters?
