1. Oh no.... I didn't see it have you tried phoning slepe hall. Can everyone check their bags please? Rik
2. As for a date for the next one I am going to see when the other basses are landing. I'm thinking 6 monthsish? Would anyone like to be involved with the organising? Also I almost a big thanks to essexbasscat for all your help
3.
want it. I only have 1350w at the moment
There wouldn't be any lightbulbs left in the UK!
4.
I'm responsible for the celebrations and leaving behind the extension socket. Jonathan
Will you be in the area anytime soon, the celebrations are pretty much gone but the extension socket only has a few bite marks
5. Oh and Dood... I want your bass. Damn you for Shuker GAS Oh and somebody left an extension lead behind. A roll out 2 socket that was red. Anyone?
6.
GB Rumour. 'Nuff said! But yes, nice to meet people and have a good chat. A couple of 'firsts' for me. Had never played a Rickenbacker, a Warwick, a Gibson or an EUB before sunday. Great fun! And thanks to Ricky for sorting it all out for us and supplying a tub of Celebrations. I might have nipped in and grabbed a few Teasers. Sorry. See you all next time!
The celebrations weren't me the biccies and the tea, coffee & squash were. Incidentally nobody ever did open the hobnobs
7. Ah yes... the Staglight My current ideas for the next bash to generate more interest: - More notice - Get atleast one shop along, already have one lined up - Get a 'big name' along if possible and advertise that as part of it - A gig following the bash (preferably with BC members bands), between 3 and 5 bands and allowing access to the general public - Possibly recording the gig aswell - A seminar or two (not an entire day) and atleast one of which could be dedicated to the mix and match equipment tests - A journalist present if they take interest, bass guitar magazine etc as well as local papers Once again a big thanks to all who came along and helped to make this a success. We met the cost of the hall and made £18.16 profit so I will donate £20 to the nordoff robbins charity and hope that we can do even better next time!
8. And I'm home after trying to 'steal' a free dinner from the hotel , thanks to everyone for making this a great day. Rest assured there will be more of these to come and there are big plans in the making! Watch this space I will try to upload pics tomorrow although I believe Dood has more than me. Rik
9. You sir should be disgraced with yourself I'm going to make my apologies for the lack of organisation now rather than later. I have decided this is almost to be a "dry run" and may try putting on a new and improved version in maybe 6months or so time. Especially as I already have interest from some people I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Rik
10.
Do people ever use the coil splitting options though? I have two RFB pickups in my ACG Harlot singlecut, which are the "Musicman" style design pickups from ACG. The bass also has coil splitting and phase switches (or something like that, two little flip switches that alter the tone). I never use these, as the bass sounds best with them left neutral!
I use mine, 3 way switches I always have them set down I think on both... which everone is the more powerful as it just seems to have more 'kick' to it
11. A backwards volume control so when the guitarist tries to turn you down you get louder
12.
Behringer? It's okay. I'll get my coat.
Might be worth getting one, it makes everything else look so much better
13. Yeah I was hoping for the tweaker software. Maybe I should try setting the amp back to flat. I just miss the bite a little bit and the staccato sounds like it might be a bit extreme for what I am after. As the high pass filter on the ACG goes up to 10k I just feel like it's lacking now that I can't use that area if that makes any sense?
14. Is there any news of the software you had going public? Just saw this thread and have been thinking I'm missing a bit of BITE in my sound currently. Not a lot but a bit... Sorry above the thread revive
15. If anyone has a tc staccatto could they bring it along? I'm trying to talk myself out of upgrading currently
16.
An electric shock booby trapped force field for when the guitarist/bassist of the other band on the bill decide to rest their full pint on it.
A time triggered catapult has the capability to be much more interesting
17. An interesting idea from the TC... Daisy Chain Capability Or really push the boat! Midi output
18. Ability to store presets would be awesome. In built tuner A storage compartment for wires (hey its a wish list isn't it?)
19. SVT!!! Further basschat folklore which was later replaced with TIM So full explanation BUMP = SVT!!! = TIM = Reply to your own thread in order to push (or bump) that thread back to the top of the listings as they are ordered by most recent post
20. The more gear the better! Unsure on wrapping up time... By 10pm is the only "limit" (although thats probably negotiable!)
21. I'll be there from around 9am doing the basic setting up bits and talking to the staff
22. To anyone staying lateish I just had the idea of ordering in pizza / fast food if anyone would be interested in just sitting and chatting bass as a group
23.
YOU MAY TAKE MY G STRING BUT YOU'LL NEVER STOP ME SLAPPING!!!
