1. +1 on the RH450 with a pick
2.
No, you are not. In fact, that is the part of the evening we should meet up for a beer and a chat
Thank god for that!
3. Generally basses but this is lovely: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~B...ple~ID~9227.asp
4. For around £400 quid? You must be kidding
5. Thats one pretty bass... That guy must hurting a fair bit.
6. Pics would probably help. Hope this gets sorted though.
7. Nice one dood, will have a read a little later.
8.
Not sure about Dingwalls. Nice idea, but I cant szee myself playing one. I need to have a tinkle on one. Thanks anyway!
Try the SuperJ unless you really don't want GAS! Best sound I have ever got from a bass and it felt sooooo natural. Only time it became hard to use was when tapping.
9. See... I'm not so worried about a battery running out (on the acg you dont even have to unscrew anything ) I'm more worried about a string breaking (never happened to date!). In that situation, without a backup I would be absolutely screwed
10. Yeah I gigged my 300pro a bit and it more than handled it at loud and quiet and sounds almost exactly the same as a studio 110 (I had both). My 300 is now up for sale but only because of an upgrade to a rebelhead and rebelstack. Brilliant amp tbh, the DI works just the same as the studio 110 aswell. I'm glad I'm not the only BC'er who likes Line6 products! If your interested check out my 300pro for sale on here
11.
Turns out it was in fact a SR1300PM, the top of the range Ibby from 93, Paduak sandwiching a mahogany core, 5 piece wenge/bubinga neck with wenge fretboard, AFR pickups and Ibanez pre with sweepable mid. There was no way I could say no. Spent today stripping it down and cleaning 16 years of smoke off and out of it and oiling the wood. It's all back together now, sounds superb, quite a lot like my Streamer actually, but with that neck. I'd forgotten how slim the necks are on these things, after the initial shock your hand just flies all over the place. It's such aneasy and graceful bass to play. There's a stigma about Ibanez basses for sure... and that's ok, because it means people like me can pick up top drawer basses for a song Yes, I am enjoying the catch
I would disagree with Ibbys having a stigma. Generally the people that don't like them have very good reason not too. Personally I wouldn't turn down an Ibby because its an Ibby, however I wont go looking as I've never found one that I like the neck on or the sound of. I think they're actually quite a marmite bass tbh.
12. For not too modern: My ACG it does both Warwick Not sure if its too modern: Dingwall
13. Right! I just widened my search a little (St Ives about 30mins down the road from Cambridge). Slepe Hall seems pretty damn good imo. Would people be willing to travel this far? Were talking £250 for the Hall all day, optional food (finger snacks but we can organise for more) aswell as a bar in the hall! Can anyone interested in getting involved in the organisation get in touch with me via pm so we dont crowd this thread? 25 people at £10 each covers this and rest could go to charity
14. That bar hill village hall looks very promising! £125 + VAT (so about £150) for 9am-5pm so 15 people at £10 a ticket could cover it... rest could go charity of choice. Scratch all that, that weekday prices. Weekend seems to only cover 6pm-1am which is £200 plus £200 damages deposit (refunded later)
15.
Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings Trilogy.... some superb stuff in there.
+1 Also some of the music from saw has been brilliant
16. That split p thing could sound alright you know!
