GONE

Very kind of you sir, May good karma/or beer (take your pick you can't have both) find its way to you in the near future
2. Please please please tell me these amps aren't any good for rock/metal with a pick. I've got to the point of thinking of selling up my amps and spending some of my hard earned on these.
3. Good luck with the sale. Pains me that I can't get it myself!
4. Something like a line6 basspod should serve you very well. Then you can use it live too!
5. If you could post the solution on your other thread it might be an idea. Nothing wrong with the mackie hardware i bet though. And i bet it feels nice to the touch! Didnt realise you went for the 1640i either, mustve missed that!
6. Not a lot of choice at that price tbh. The behringers are pretty much all in the range. Or you could look second hand, maybe post in theft wanted items on here.
7. I'm tempted but I wont be able to confirm until nearer the time. If I am coming it'll be with a modded P bass (SD 1/4lb an BAII), the acg and both line6 amps
8. Guideline price would help mate.
9. Suffering serious gas now! Rh450 with 2xrs210 please
10.
2dB. To sound twice as loud requires 10dB. That's the difference between 350w and 3500w. And that 2dB is best case, assuming your speakers can make use of the additional power. Between thermal and mechanical power compression few speakers can actually make use of more than half their thermal wattage ratings, and most come in closer to 40%. So the answer might be no difference.
I thought it was 6db. Pretty sure that's what we were told at Uni anyway.
11. No fact questions at all mate. This is going to prove useful to many people I expect.
12.
It might be worth getting a "stage box" to keep cabling tidy. I wish I had one. IME it's near impossible to avoid spaghetti on the floor.
+1 multicores are fairly expensive for what they are though. It will save you a lot of work though and your going to want your table to look as tidy as it can. Remember that you will spend a lot of time at that table.
13.
Never liked the shape of Pedulla basses, looks like the horns could snap off. Probably a great sounding bass though but the one I tried had a neck like a base ball bat. Not a big fan of singlecuts, LEDs, f holes or ramps, but each to his own I guess. Didn't used to like headless basses but I'm sort of getting used to them. Edit: Great minds think alike!
I only like the rapture but that is one beautiful bass!
14.
LOL, well you've been very encyclopaedic to date mate. Thanks for the info re cans, I'll have a look online at the weekend Chris
You do music tech at Uni for 3 years you get a bit of experience and opinions were always asked.
15.
Wow, didn't think I'd ever catch you out Charic! It's NS10s or HS50s at the moment, the benefits of the latter being that I don't need a power amp, the benefits of the former that they will clearly teach me a lot about monitoring very quickly!
im not a sodding encylclopedia you know
16. If you want headphones as just an idea of what theyd sound like to a user (i did this a bit with some panning experimentation) id go for cheapo in ear. If you want something a bit more serious then id probably pick up somme beyerdynamic headphones (best cans ive used). Or the sub 30quid option is probably some akg headphones. Re the hs50ms, theyre pretty good imho will give you a similar mix to that of ns10s. They can go pretty loud and they look good too . If you struggle with bass at all i believe there is a matching sub that you could add at a later date. Once you get all the gear set up please put up photos im starting to miss engineering a bit now lol. Your giving me studio gas! oneday when i have my own place eh?
17. Im honestly not sure on that one mate...
18. I use the 110 also has the di out wich doesnt turn off the speaker for small live gigs. Recently used it without the di with 2 guitarists, drummer and singer.
19. Hs50m's and hs80m's are the modern powered equivilant. On a side note the reason ns10's were discontinued is because if you ATE one it was carcenogenic (i think thats how its spelt lol) ns10s tend to divide opinion quite alot. Theyre very distinct sounding and much like in the bass world things like that tend to be very marmite. And yes they are quite tiring on the ears i expect its because of the strong midrange on them.
20. Were thinking of holding it in an ampeg cab. Should be plenty of room!
