11.
That cover plate is quite something. If one things for sure its that you can't be sure what the finish will look like until it's finished
How true! I cant wait to see the full body fully finished. Ive actually transferred the pics to my phone for viewing pleasure. Doc, I have to agree.. I'll hopefully have my not so grubby mitts on this relatively soon, so I'll bring it up for a noodle when I get a chance. Maybe youll add an acg to your huge collection at somepoint
12. IME you can vary tone a LOT with your playing position with this pups, more than I had noticed previous to installing them. Playing closer to the neck should reduce the bite these can have.
13. +1 on the line6. Brilliant amp, cant recommend it enough, plus if you get into a band it can plug straight into a PA for full volume playing. Remember the point of uni is to be drunk, when drunk you write the best tunes (atleast you will think so). So make sure to take advantage of the situation, plus uni groupies
14. Are they the 1/4 pounders? I have them in my Pbass, I can get a fair range of sounds out of them, although predominatley rock, punk or metal. I think its because they cater the higher pitches quite well. It depends alot on your amp aswell though.
15. Sorry about the incompleteness of this build thread, im well behind on it due to lack of er... internet at home. Currently stealing the GF's lappy but dont tell her! A few pics for now, will fill in the blanks probably next week when internet comes to my flat! Waaaay. Anyways heres the most important updates... Colour! First the body got sprayed green as opposed to staining. This was a fair bit lighter than either me or Alan were looking for unfortunately and the amount of coats needed to get a bright colour would have created a risk of the lacquer cracking. At the same time the neck got masked off and the stringers and headstock got sprayed. The green on the stringers is beautiful IMO, however the headstock will probably have to be adjusted to match the body the stringers cannot be stained as it will bleed into the wenge. So body got sanded (after setting ofcourse), and after Alans hardwork and sanding the body got stained This was a fair bit darker than I expected, however after a few coats of finish the backplate looked like this: Im gobsmacked. All i can say is that this finish has surpassed all expectations I ever had and im now itching to get this bass into my hands!
16.
I've never been Jacko's biggest fan, but I think you're definitely in the "songs you don't like" category rather than "crap songs" there.
Willingly Conceded
17. Pretty much any Michael Jackson IMO *Ducks*
18. Its nice, but appearance only nothing special imo. I would have to rip out the silver screws and chuck in some black. I also think it could do with some *spice* on the paintjob. Just my opinion ofc.
19. Ive heard a loose input is a common problem after childbirth.
20. collection or delivery? Out of interest
