1. how about a line6 lowdown head along with a cab of your choice? Plenty of variation
2. 1 x cheap bass and a shed load of beer
3. Never got off the horse AM1 been in various projects recently that have just bugged the hell out of me so i left. Well I remembered I knew a fairly good vocalist so hes auditioning on tuesday which should be interesting. I'll podcast him and we can have a basschat xfactorr lol! Ive already got a couple of drummers banging at my door so to speak so thats not too bad. Its just nice to be in a band thats writing my own music . Oh if you want a listen then very very rough copies are on www.myspace.com/bandtheascent thanks for all the advice ppl. I may make a compilation of sites and see if I can get it stickied at some point
4. Im currently in a new project and were seeking a singer and drummer in the cambridgeshire area. Cambridge bands is mainly people in cambs and we dont really want to have to travel that far. Were thinking more huntingdon/peterborugh area. Was wondering how you fellows go about finding new members?
5.
"I'd also like it to be something I can sell for what I paid if I get skint in the future!"? Do customs hold their value?
I would of thought a shuker would hold its value pretty well, especially if you went for the JJBurnell model or such. A shuker without the wait IMO would be worth a little extra rather than less tbh.
6. line6 110 plug directly into the PA... Limitless Power mwahahahaha
7. The pod by itself to me always sounded a little bit lacking. However if your just trying to downsize then a line6 studio 110 plugs directly into the PA and the PA nearly always sounds just like the amp BEFORE people start faffing with the signal. Chuck in the fact that the Amp still stays active so you basically have your own personal monitor and your well away!
8. I had a millenium bxp as my first bass. Loved it but the neck was too thin for me. Now a fender convert. Shame as the bxp had a great sound.
9.
Hell! - are you the same Tom Android that was the prototype for the The Finglonger Hedonism-Bot made at Santa's Death Fortress on Neptune that went on to serve in The Hover-Bot Death Troopers Infantry? Welcome!
Wow, this is the most random post Ive seen in awhile. Talking of which.. I havnt seen theBBC in awhile lol
10. ive always had gas 4 one. Wudve bought 1 ages bk but the only 1 i saw was a 5er
11. Is anyone interested in hanging their bass from the wall? If so my string swing may suit you brilliantly. It served me well for quite awhile but I can no longer hang from the wall due to moving out. Im looking to swap for a standard erm... stand. Or I may be willing to chuck in a few pennies and/or my hercules stand for a multi-stand. Bartering most definately allowed
12. Its a bolt on neck, what made you think that out of interest?
13. Got an update Necks all glued up and the back of the bass routed. Heres the latest pic God its effort posting when I dont have the web in my new flat yet
14. wow! Cant wait for more news now! Gratz! N on a sideline topic.. One less infront of mine =D
15. played my first gig with the fellow. Honestly i thought he was alright but never understood why people rave bout him.
16. Ive only tried a few esp's but i found them lacking. Have you tried any out? I believe the sg shape basses suffer neck dive issues. If your looking for a good bass for that money id give peavey a look too. Aswell as the classifieds here. Rik
17. Who knows why we percieve 1-2khz as being loudest then? Latest theory I heard in acoustics (back in uni) is it is approximately the same frequency range as a baby crying. Course were still not sure how we percieve pitch so all of this is irrelevant lol
18. warwick corvette $$ imo, fender whatever really, the yamaha trbs are excellent. Hmm worlds your oyster 2nd hand tbh.
19. ive tried a q5. Was very disappointed. Was very weak sounding and not all that good to play. It might be worth noting it was through an ampeg rig. The yamaha trb series seem a lot better imho.
