1. my bet is its due 2 a protection system the ear has in place. The ear compresses if it feels it could be damaged. This inturn could momentarily throw your balance. The reason different frequencies for different people is simply some people are more sensitive to certain frequencies.
2. how long was yours in the making then? Im really looking forward to mine! Alan is definately cracking them out so far this year. Yours really is gorgeous. Enjoy!
3. i think he may have been pointing out the random extra bit of wood in the control area.
4. ah, wise u are. New year happy too you. Decision good may u make.
5. tequila and carlesberg influenced new years wisdom. Would you rather do something you love for a year or something you dont mind for 3? I need a wise face on here lol. Have a good one!
6. qparts have some pretty nice knobs
7. You buying a 3rd one makes me so much surer that I'm going to love mine when it arrives! Really can't wait!. Beautiful wood there! Especially for the neck. So whats on the board for your 4th acg then? Do you get loyalty points when buying your 2nd or 3rd bass out of interest

9. I like using powertab, tbh i cant learn by ear to save my life but i can make my own stuff up by ear most of the time. Ultimate guitar is my favourite site, but as already stated it really is a shame the powertab archive has gone under. Sorry I cant be of help as I seem to be even more lazy than yourself AM rik

Samick Basses

i have a six string samick artist bass. I know these used to retail at around $1000. Its not a bad bass at all! Especially now ive got new elecs in it. Quite chuffed!
11. Just thought of a fun little game. You know that ol' game? On my camping trip im gonna take a... then the next person has to take that aswell as the previous. Same thing here but with bass solo. So here goes! On my bass solo im gonna play (you can only play one note btw!) --- --- -7- --- this should get interesting!
12. Yeah did you see any others, cant wait till yours is done either though! Hope we get some sound clips
13. If my bass wasn't in the building I'd be reaching for my pocket right now, as it is its still tough. Beauty of a bass and surprised to see it hasn't sold yet!
14. Well as this has recently been an issue for me i thought id put in my 2p lol. I recently joined a band and was all going great until it came to learning the originals. We went to learn them and they refused to give me any basic chord structure or anything of the sort. Telling me that if I stuck at it I should easily pick it up at a later point. After 2 days of struggling on and trying to pick it up I asked for a hand and consequently got dropped from the band. Now to explain the situation. Im a bassist of 2 and a bit years and keyboard player of 17+. I originally and have always learnt by notation/tab. Powertab being that which I lean to for bass. I dont usually think this limits me as if someone can tell me what chords or notes or even frets they play then I can easily work out the best bassline I see fit and also hear in my head. My problem is finding "the starting point". I wouldnt say I have a musical ear at all. Atleast for learning by ear. However for picking up rhythm and adding extra notes I can easily hear where it can go to etc. I don't usually think im limited, I just think I need to find slightly more.... patient guitarist/s. Rik
15. Sorry about the delays for those following this thread, fulltime work really does leave a lack of spare time so I have just been a lurker for a while and not really had time to post. So heres a few updates ive received from Alan lately: The mac ebony fretboard slotted: and the neck together Body now looking like a bass, this was in my dreams for a few days And now the roundovers done: It really is nice to see things coming together! Can't wait to play what will undoubtedly be my dream bass! Alan really is great for passing on progress reports etc aswell, highly recommended so far!
16. how about the ashdown perfect 10? Its a belter for 30 watts. 10" cone. Nt too heavy n sounds gd. I jst purchased a 110 tho to go with my 300pro =D
17. my theory is if u can play a bass with high action then u can play one with low action. Although if its too low i do tend to rattle as im an aggressive player.
18. i personally like a nice high action on my fender p

My Band

Vocals are female. The solo is as the guitarists want it. The levels at that point have been a problem to sort and takes alot. The volume of the vox is causing issues as it can be very harsh if much louder. Just stuff to work on really

My Band

Awesome. Bloody drummer is criticising my editing to hell. He doesnt like the boom before the solo.

24. Lol i was simply referring to the fact that condensers shouldnt be near spl's like a snare due to damaging the diaphragm. The fact its a c1000 makes it worse seein as imo its very overrated unless as live overheads. Ps. Soz 4 OT
25.
Cool, thanks. We only have it on because our drummer uses a condenser mic on his snare.
that mic must be wrecked by now then
