9.
Cheers for this. From what are gather from the above and some PM's from Charic, I need: An audio interface (which I think is like a box with wires coming out of it) Some software (that might come free with said audio interface) A laptop/PC (got that) And I can get drum lops and stuff from a variety of places (online, front of some magazine, in the butchers next to the "special" sausages) I can I also get a cheap dynamic mic to mic up my amp If I don't want to DI straight into the Audio Interface (the box with wires). Let me know if this is right so far, or am i missing the point. Also can anyone reconmend some decent and (more importantly) easy to use software. Been told Cubase is a bit crap. Thank you for your help so far. *bearing in mind how retarded I clearly am about this kind of stuff, can you imagine just how terrible this is gonna sound?!!! I'll have to post it up here for a laugh!
You nailed it buddy Some people swear by cubase, I do too.. i swear its crap . Ableton live comes with the AI (audio interface) i recommended earlier, see if you get on with it and try a few others too. Best of luck and ill happily help you through recording too.

17. Quarter pounders if the jazz equivalent is anything like the p's. Amazing sound IME
18. Yeah thats what I thought tbh. Suitable for electric you reckon? Im just looking at making an all purpose recording setup, theyre high quality at that price. Should run into my Korg d888 great and theyre small,. Ofcourse I would have to later invest in 8 mic stands and cables
19. i found a set of 6 for 200squid. Thought they might handle electric guitar fairly well. Snare and overheads.
20. How general purpose are these? I can record 8 tracks onto my mixer and if they are able to handle snare or kick (im kinda dubious that they will) even if they dont sound great they will do for now as they are updateable. Heard some mad raves on the quality and im wondering if anyone has experience
21. As your fishing for unusual ideas heres my £0.02 + VAT :- Soapbar at bridge/ MM at neck or vice versa. :- two tone paint job, white/black, white/blue, silver/blue etc etc etc. :- Inlay? :- how about a zebrano neck? should sound like wenge but look amazing, not heard of one before off the top of me head :- custom designed scratchplate? :- body wood is not something i can suggest as i dont know what you play :- facing if not painted... quilt maple? zebrano? flame maple? walnut? mac ebony? spalt? burl? :- matching headstock ofc :- think heavily on what stringers? do you want them dyed? or natural? To fit in with the neck? Contrast?
