5. Out of interest could you describe the feel of the neck in more detail? I ask because I'm now saving for the deposit on an acg ill have to try and make that bassday
6.
well, if they had to shout to each other in order to converse at a distance of 1 meter, then they should have been wearing ear defenders as that is the rule of thumb criteria for them to be worn. If you have to shout, then your ears are being damaged. The damage is accumulative and non reversible.
Not entirely true but I agree with the sentiment. Damage is not done to the ears unless the volume level is sustained of "x" period of time. "x" varies with the level of volume in mind. Other than that your ears also have this nifty function of naturally defending themselves. You may notice that everything sounds more "compressed" than usual. This is the ears defending themselves. At this point your ears may be being damaged but unless the volume is being sustained then you should be fine as they do also naturally heal to a degree. This all being said... wear ear protection anyway. Do it, dont be silly whether in the crowd or on stage. Earplugs actually help you hear BETTER. Now I feel smart and all is right with the world Carry on
7. Next time they ask just say you will buy it... Then change your mind because you played a better one down the road
8. +1 lol Seriously tho, the OP has responded in 2 pages I say let this one die and let it have its place in the room 101 of threads
9. Just browse the build diaries in here. You'll find something which will catch your fancy im sure
10. Got the job! Im no longer a bum and im writing my resignation to co-op as we speak. My acg will be underway soon!
11. Good plan that man! Seeing as most gigs are thurs for some reason that sounds good. Fridays occasionally but if thats the case ill make sure i either get tonnes of notice or get in a dep
12. Gigging is for my fun, my time and a hobby. I dont really see myself going professional to be honest (+ ive only been playing 2 years)
13.
When I was at uni I used to finish at Safeway at 10 and normally had time to lash it home and get changed and get to the gig, but once I was late and had to rock it in my Safeway uniform hehe. Don't worry mate, where there is a will, there is a way. Good luck with the band, sounds exciting... ped
Thanks ped. The job is in a cleanroom environment so... i suppose i could go dressed as an astronaught
14. I dont think honestly we'll all be gigging that often tbh. We've only got a 25minute set at this moment in time. I know a couple of people who could probably dep for me if i taught them the songs. Also a lot of venues round here don't really pay unless you have your own pa. Which we dont at this moment in time. Only way we'll get cash is through the door IF enough people come through
15. I might have managed to land a job and should find out if I've got it later today with any luck The shifts are 6-2 one week and 2-10 the next. In theory my band could just play gigs the weeks when im doing mornings which would suit me fine but I dont know if its unreasonable to ask them to do that. Also weekends are free aslong as I dont do overtime. My band had their first gig last night and it went great. I really dont want to stop playing with them just as things are kicking off. So your thoughts on the subject? Also I suppose once i know people their I might be able to shift swap?

Peteborough 7th Aug

Nah were just the opening act. The second band on (the black market thieves) play a lot of indie covers in with their originals. Our only cover song is "weak as i am" by skunk anansie.
17. My band have their first gig tonight at the cherry tree in peterborough. If your in the area feel free to pop in. Free entry. My bands on at 8 for half an hour Rik
18.
I remember those old Marlin guitars - they were total dogs.
Someone I know is convinced they're collectable
19. how much you looking at spending? What basses have you liked but cant afford? Style of music you want it for?
20. I love my lowdown 300pro. Sooo loud that my band wont let me turn it up all that far. Excellent distortion sound, great ampeg sound and a lovely chorus. I dont need anything more but it gives it to me. Quite heavy though. IMHO beats the roland hands down. Not tried the fender. Not tried the marshall. I like ashdowns but only their 10" speakers. Oh and the line6 has a direct out which is veeery useful!
21. Get wii fit and do the yoga youll probably find your over-excercising muscles i reckon
22. Just so you know your best off running xp as many daw's still aren't compatible with vista. And i recommend protools LE very highly
23. if its the bxp its passive. If its the ac bxp its active. My 1st bass, sounded great bt the neck was too thin for me.
