Strange to have the person in question log in and not reply. Im thinking a feedback rating should be visible under the persons name. Although i have noticed that older contributing members to the forum do seem to sell better than "newbies" and perfectly understandable why tbh. Maybe on this forum weve set ourselves up to easily to be scammed. Altho saying this:
1 trade = successful no hiccups
1 buy = successful no hiccups
1 buy = successful but royal mail decided to hold onto said item for way to long
This is my MIM fender P! It plays like a dream.... I prefer it to many a higher spec model. Including MIA Fender P's. I do care about how this done... so im willing to spend a pretty penmy making it prettier
Yeah sorry i should of thought about what i was typing i know how to go about getting it done. I was asking for examples of what you consider to be a nice metallic green. Altho the idea of green n black stripes on a pbass is great i reckon haha
Ok heres the deal i want to find a NICE metallic green for my pbass. Green being my fave colour, however these seem hard to come accross. Wondered if u had any ideas?
Sound engineers cant polish a turd. Something many people forget.
Wana bet? I wish i could show you some old mixes i worked on. You couldnt look at that turd without squinting
Honestly though more often than not "polishing the turd" is exactly what sound engineers HAVE to do. This is usually why its OK sound and not great sound. However saying this i was talking to the sound engineer (being unhappy with the mix and asking him to turn up the lead guitar and down the rhythm n being the usual engineer/manager) and he told me to F off. He ended up with a whole nights worth of angry bands getting at him tho so we werent the only band to be unhappy with it.
Imagination run wild you say... now youve done it
Ok heres one ive been pondering over myself recently and could have been done but i havnt seen it yet. How about a pickup that was BOTH a P and J style pickup and is possible to switch between the two?
I kind of have an idea how to put this one into action too.
Imagine this is the pickup configuration:
[][] Each square is the same size as a single PUP of P size proportions and you simply turn on the pickups you wish to
[][] use. People talk about versatility... this would definately do that!
Feasable?
Not tried it and alot of you guys probs aint heard of em but what about stormtroopers of death with the likes of:
pre-menstrual princess blues
and
speak english or die
Yeah thats y i suggested putting the ERB on it, in the rules section (im sure theres probs one sumwhere i havnt checked) you could have a rule added about posting derogoraty (that how it spelt?) comments being put in which are of the norm to us
Alternatively you cud put ERB at the start of posts in the normal section. This way ppl know it is that and rules shud b put against putting down ERB basses n the whole "you dont need more than 4" thing. This way everyone gets the opportunity to see the titles still and decide if they wana read without going into a subforum
Biggest response ive seen was to
Status Quo - Rocking all over the world
the band hated playing it as it was just for a joke but it backfired when the entire function room stood up and moved to the dance floor lol
How about getting a cheap second hand combo? Ashdown stuff has quite a good sound in my opinion and is of a fair price. 2nd hand you mite find yourself a bargain. Possibly at the price of your cab that your interested in.
PS behringer stuff = mixed reviews but you seem to get what you pay for, which in this price range isnt a great thing to say. I find it unreliable and touch n go on reviews. Be careful
Scales have their place for me. I know how to work them out and such (having a grade 5 theory) but if i start to think that way in a band situation I usually end up stuck for stuff i like. Personally the play by instinct with a bit of common sense seems to work atm.
Saying this each to their own and if you want to learn HOW scales work take up piano as its probably the easiest instrument to relate to EVERY other. Whereas if you learn it JUST on bass you may find yourself a little stuck in a band situation i reckon until having done it for a fair bit longer. I find if you know the notes in a chord then that usually is all you need (for most things im no prog or jazz bass god... not even a bass god yet )
