Great news! My mate sings for Memorium, and I have/had acquaintances in a few of the other bands.
Does that mean you'll be coming along?
Played there a few years ago its a great venue. Don't get any food from the chippy around the corner, Portions are proper stingy
Great to know! I've heard the parking can be an issue but nothing else bad
Congrats on the new role Sounds like you really enjoy what they do - so that makes it easier to learn new material But get cracking with it anyway! It is do-able, I've done it with cover bands I've depped for (mind you, I knew some of the covers beforehand) Best of luck with it
Oh I really enjoy it, covering guitar lines on keys can be challenging though!! I've been cracking through it for a couple of days so far so good
id say be thankful, but then make sure the next album is full of 10 minute epics
That sounds very compromising
-
is it an album of 10 minute symphonic metal epics?
Nope, and I'm not sure whether to be thankful or disappointed
Beneath the Divine, bit down tempo from what you'll be doing
Just before us then I'll ping you a message in a bit buddy!
-
We're playing that too ☺
Who you with buddy?!

Got a hectic few weeks ahead. So, while I was away on my honeymoon I got a message asking me to get in touch. Get back and get offered a role playing keys in a band I've fancied playing in for quite some time. I've now got until the 27th to learn an entire album (plus some new songs) ready for this gig. I'll be playing with Sincerely, Yours if anyone fancies coming and saying hi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUuha2mmn0A
Somewhere between 30-60 minutes?
I would guess so too. Dependant on the number of supports playing and the start time. Could possibly be as high as 90 if you're the only support

Really wish I could have seen them on this tour, live they've always been great for me. Unfortunately I really didn't rate "the astonishing"
I play a bit of guitar as well so it was always good value for me, but with the new Bass related update it has really become a far better bass product. I think this will continue - the main product chief is a bassist himself. As usual though, if you try one in a shop it won't have the latest firmware on it! No doubt any new ones that ship from now on will have it, but existing stock won't. I've been playing with the Pearce BC1 jumped on one pathway, and a B7KU into a Mesa 400+ on the other. Each side blending cleanas well as their own drive flavours. It sounds huge. The Pearce is particularly good. I've got an Ampeg SVP-BSP which sounds the same, but the L6 model of it has far less hiss when dimed. It really is better than the real thing. I'm very happy!
Yeah I'll have to find somewhere to trial but at the moment I'm not actually TOO worried. I don't usually do anything too insane with my sounds. I'll probably keep my pedalboard anyway so it's basically replacing a Hartke Kilo and Bergantino NV610. Which while it sounds pretty amazing stood infront of it I don't expect the punters would notice too much if playing through a decent PA and the Line6

I'm getting GAS bad for one of these. Might need to look at selling my Rig Soon
I do a lot of Linux stuff in my day-job (although mostly on the development/architecture side not production level system administration) but feel free to PM and I'll do my best to help.
Thanks mate, got a few convos going on but I'll PM you either later or tomorrow Rik

Hi folks! If anyone here knows how to go about creating and "correctly" setting up a decent linux server (running CPanel for ease of maintenance) can you give me and Ped a shout? Or if you know someone who might be able to help! BC has some big changes on the Horizon and we want to make sure we do it properly and while I can do some nifty things code-side I'm not particularly strong on Linux! Any help appreciated Rik

Why would anyone want to be the bass player in an indie band?

Ask for influences and make sure you're up for the general feel. Keep it simple and focus on fitting the songs. -
Inexpensive t-shirt printing for band merchandise?
charic replied to MacDaddy's topic in General Discussion
One of the best I've seen is a company called Monster Screen Prints. Could be worth a look, not sure on pricing etc but a mate of mine uses them regularly -
Ah well - it's good to be noticed!
Sorry buddy, nothing personal just a hectic couple of days (with a focus on getting new bods signed up!)
Yes, I dropped by 3 times and had a quick word, but didn't feel particularly engaged. First time one person said "We're just setting up" and then carried on speaking to one of the others, so I wandered off (it was at least 10:30, maybe 11 on the Saturday). Next I mentioned I'd started the "Is anybody getting bored of "reliced" instruments?" and one of the people said "Which one - we have lots of them?" and that was that (it's now at 190 posts). The 3rd time I said "It's loud here!" and someone said they had been giving earplugs out on the way in and that was about it. So others may have chatted and so-on, but that's how it was for me - no real conversation.
I remember you!! When we were setting up things were a mix of stressful / hilarious there's some pics I'll have to dig out of that It was also me you mentioned the relic'd instruments thread too (I've not looked at it!) 3rd time I don't think was me but if it was loud and the last day my voice was shot by then
