1.
Think of the difference between a ninja and a football hooligan. Both can do damage, but my money's on the ninja.
Depends... How many ninjas start riots and throw stones in large groups lol
2. Ok help me out here folks. Im drop tuning lately (due to my new band playing in Drop D). I LOVE my roto swing bass with a 110 E. However when I drop tune it just doesnt have the same impact anymore. So whats the solution?????
3. Huge vote for digital village for buying mate: www.dv247.com theyll match your lowest price found. Also when testing monitors take some old and some newer music that you know well. Remember your not looking for speakers that sound nice. Your looking for ones that will show up problems. So if you have a band that done some amateur recording take that too!
4. Reminds me of one of those danelectro basses... not for me cheers
5.
If only this was a 5 stringer I'd be all over it like a hot flannel.
If i had money i would be!
6. Im a constant pick player and ive never had this. My wrist rests on the bass but I dont think it ever actually moves. Its just my hand that moves. Dont know if this is right technique as i never had a lesson 8)
7. Interesting but kinda pointless article in the end rele
8. Have you tried saying it isnt a musical instrument? Its a wooden structure
9. Have to say you picked the best shape by far! I need to have a holiday from this site. Theres too many basses i want but dont need
10. Comfort strapp solved any weight issues for me
11. Off topic but Dbasser. In response to your Sig "Is the glass half full or half empty?" Its twice as big as it needs to be
12. Ibanez EDB 605? Most of the others are now made in wood
13. Oooooooo G.A.S so bad it hurts. Accept monthly payments? lol
14. Slightly off topic but thought it might be mentioning: A perfect interval (5-1 or V-I) is used very often as an ending (or perfect ending) as it sounds very.... complete i suppose. So if playing during a C chord you play a G then a C it will sound like the end of a song (if done right). Try it and find out. Adversely an imperfect interval (4-1 or IV-I) will leave the listener waiting for another note. So again if playing in C you play an F then a C it will leave the listener waiting for another note. This can be a great technique if wanting to cause that little bit of tension. Strange how the mind works eh? OMG i can remember my music theory.... that certificate really does mean something
15. I always wondered what a MM style pup would look like there. It looks awesome ... hmmm ideas (my poor pbass may be getting more features)
16. Out of interest what do you mean as "diamond" inlays?? Im doubting theyre made of diamond lol and theyre not diamond shaped in the pic...
17. Funnily enough I could play a trb1006 as easily as my 4 string p bass (work that one out!). My peavey has a very thin neck and it gets REALLY uncomfortable to play for some reason. Its almost like a cramp in my hand. Yet with my pbass I have literally played non stop for around 5 hours without my hand really getting tired or aching.
18. Go secondhand, thats the only advice i can give. Im after either a trb1006 or failing that a yamaha jm2 (although ive not found one of those to try )
19. I think it worked out at atleast £300 :S itll be a future project I reckon. But itll make the pbass look even tastier
20. You have to admit it was worth a try good luck with the sale mate
21. I use Yamaha HS50M monitors. Theyre being called the modern day NS10's
22.
Although the £250 in question has been good to have around the place since I got it on ebay a while back, I find I'm not really using it to the degree it deserves. After much soul searching, feel it should go to someone who will. Can be provided in 5x£50, 25x£10 or 13x£20 with a bit of cash (£10?) my way. I'll sell for around £300 (o.n.o.). Alternatively I'll take an old Fender Precision neck as a trade (prefereably maple board, but rosewood's OK). 70's or early 80's ideally but anything considered. Cheers Chris PS does anyone ever read 'Items Wanted'?
i do, unfortunately my pbass neck is staying put unless you offer enough for a warmoth wenge/ebony replacement how do u reckon thatd sound btw?
23. im sure thatll attract sum punters now =D
