1. Not a huge fan but it's hard to deny that the guys got a LOT of talent bottled up in there. The song he did for the hobbit was fantastic though
 2.
That's a good point
I'm looking at the helix myself to potentially replace my Hartke Kilo and Bergantino NV610. Mostly to save space Just need to make sure the sound is a fit for me first!
 3.
I really know something like this will benefit me. As much as I like to be limited I like a lot a variations of the same things. Like fuzz, delay, reverbs etc. I'm just after opinions. Also with the midi I'm guessing it could change the presets on my Novation Bass Station?
The Helix "seems" to be more popular amongst bass players. However, that may be because you can't seem to find any Axe units in the UK to trial!
 4.
I'll try and get down to this one day, seems like there was some nice, shiny toys to be seen Regarding the 15 minute quiet period, Couldn't you insist all exhibitors with noisy things to plug them using timed sockets so they just turn off at a set time? Just an idea.
I'm pretty sure that could cause a few things to blow
 5.
Hey guys and girls, I was the guy on the Shuker stand helping Jon out. Thanks a million to all of you that came to have a chat and have a play of the basses - although a combination of the guys on Rhinegold stand and some slightly unbalanced decisions by the noise police made trying things out a bit difficult, despite the loan of a brilliant little Barefaced cab (I now know what I'm buying next!). The turquoise bass must have been the most photographed bass in the show and even caught the attention of a certain Mr Ellefson who came over to have a look - thanks to Dood! I'm sure you'll all be delighted to know that it's found a great new home in Plymouth! Ped, Charic - where's the Basschat selfie??
Great to meet you too, that turquoise bass was ridiculously playable. I'd never considered having a ramp because I have quite a heavy handed playing style but I'm pretty sure I'm going down that route now! Ped has the selfie so I'm sure it'll be up soon
 6. Thanks for everyone who came to say Hi at the stand! Boy do we have some stories to tell Sunday was a LOT busier than Saturday though. The dingwall NG2 6 string was definitely the best sounding bass of the show for me and the Greenburl Shuker was the best playing (didn't get a chance to hear it properly).
 7.
Afternoon all, I've been given a Warwick Streamer LX that's seen better days. There is no sound coming out of it, at all, not even a hum or crackle. I've had the back off and from visual inspection, most of the soldering joints look OK and I can't see anything out of place. I am no expert beyond soldering the wires back onto the jack socket so any advice would be greatly appreciated. It's an active bass too with a battery. Cheers, J.
My advice is give it to me, just because I'm nice like that First port of call would probably be replace the output jack and work backwards if you're getting absolutely nothing

 9.
As far as we know as per our last meeting all we need to do is bring a laptop with our playlist - but yes if it becomes a problem I'll farm it out to someone else. The wedding is a small affair so we don't need a mini festival, just a few lights to have in the room really. Got my wedding ring today - Tungsten Carbide, £14.99 reduced from £280 if you'll believe that!!! Looks and feels great though...
Nice one! I've gone for a black titanium ring, kinda like the ones I've seen from EMBR on facebook but wanted to make sure it's comfortable
 10. Personally I wouldn't want to be running it myself as I don't want to have to break it down at the end of the night or next day. I asked a local sound engineer and he's sorting it for me, pretty good rates too. Far FAR cheaper than a "wedding DJ"
 11. Does any buzzing go away when you touch the bridge? If so, then you have an earthing issue

 14.
Cultivating a rock star look from the How To Be A Rock Star manual is definitely not cool e.g leather kecks, shades, bandanas, ciggie hanging from the lower lip.... errm basically Guns n Roses. Flea isn't cool. He jumps around on stage in white shreddies.
What if they wrote the manual? Entwistle Lemmy Harris
 15. - If a user fails to read and follow the update instructions, Helix will scare small woodland creatures back into their holes, triggering sixmore weeks of winter weather
 16. If he's interested in your bass I would go the whole hog and get him a "proper" bass. Sure, to begin with it'll be a bit big on him but I doubt he'll be playing the most complex stuff to begin with
 17. I bit of folded paper in the nut can sometimes fix this
 18. The real workout for me was always Rime of the ancient mariner. Jesus that used to hurt

 20.
Hi Charic, Never tried the Dt770, but they seem high on peoples list, i will look into trying a pair, be interesting to try against the superlux just too see.
I mostly remember finding them comfortable/decent build quality if I'm honest. At around £100 it's not a huge gamble though
