1.
ABSOLUTELY these for a four stringer: http://daddario.com/..._Medium__50_120 They are gauged 50-67-90-120 There's the added tension to allow the A, D and G string to be dropped a semitone and the 120 works very well for the C#, giving you a nice solid feel to the low notes. No need to buy specialist sets or leave strings off. Oh and they're D'addario.
They're nickel though
  2.
I'm doing exactly that. I'm using a mac
Can you screenshot what you're entering please?
  3. Delain and Everygrey in November Killswitch Engage and Bullet for my valentine in December
  4.
Uploaded IR are static - no adjustment. the stock ones have loads of adjustment options - mic type, distance from the cone etc etc. I haven't yet found an external IR that can't be duplicated by fiddling with the stock ones.
Interesting! I think I need to find one to fiddle with My latest project is looking at a silent stage so it'll be good to see what we can manage. TBH, most of the time it'll be one sound for the whole set I expect...
  5. This made for interesting watching, I thought the AX8 sounded better out of the box but the line6 nabbed it with his on IR... Hmm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afe8iReQLGU
  6.
I really like that. Pity the back is so boring.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
  7. Sorry, I meant can you load any IR model into the line6?
  8.
Just had a play with IR Models - I was specifically looking for some acoustic bass stuff and found a generic patch for acoustic with a bunch of IR models of a Taylor 314CE with a bunch of different mics... Flipping brilliant! The patch: http://line6.com/cus...e/tone/2324697/ The IRs are on google drive: https://drive.google...FJLQ241WTg/view
How do the IR Models work?
  9.
i had a listen to some of their stuff, but they just seem to be ripping off Oasis.
Git... need a new screen
  10. Definitely a metal type chap Got something in the works which would definitely benefit from a silent stage though so I'm sorely tempted. Plus moving on a 6x10 means I have a fair bit of spare storage space in my tiny house lol.
  11.
I think (do check) that the AX8 doesn't do twin amp pathways. The Full Axe-FX does and the Helix does, but I don't think the AX8 does. Might not be an issue for you, but I love that flexibility.
Nah, the AX8 doesn't (AFAIK) but from what I hear it has the more extensive library of the two. Ideally I'll hunt down both to try on guitar and bass and see what's what
  12. I'm getting close to the point in selling my rig to replace with either this or the fractal ax8. I just need the necessary to buy so that I can sell (I don't like to be without a rig!)
  13.
My Helix is making a trip back to L6 via PMT this week... Unit has died after trying to patch the firmware to 2.01. L6 and PMT both providing excellent customer service so far.
That sucks! But atleast the support is good so far!
  14. Worth noting that it is REALLY easy to download from soundcloud even if download isn't enabled so I wouldn't put anything you're hoping to sell on there
  15. I would think something like the SuperTwin could be a bit of a better fit for Synth Sounds. No idea why I think this mind you... just an inkling

    Incoming!

    I've played Nick's, beautiful bass
  17. Pint glasses can leave you a bit stickyfingered too
  18. Recently played with a band where the guitarist was so loud I couldn't hear the snare with a VERY heavy handed drummer
  19.
I have heard good things about these guys and during a recent special offer giveaway type thing I have bought a few new VST's. , I think they are great and will use them , but the hassle of getting Reaper to load them has been totally off putting. Each time it's the same , the latest attempt being to update reaper and uninstalling waves central snd starting again , is this normal ? If it us I will leave them alone next time
I've never had an issue with them but I use protools. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to remember how waves central works though
  20. Rotosound swingbass are my second choice but I found they don't stay bright for quite as long and are a bit harder on your fingers
  21. I'm looking forward to my bassist getting his to use with his Subway D800
  22.
Small room, loud band + ACS Earplugs = No problems
Fixed
