1. Like it, not too keen on the break from 2:50 but I expect that's personal taste
 2. Try listening on your rig at home without playing for a similar amount of time, does the tinnitus still start up? From people I know, most tinnitus tends to be triggered from the higher freqs, it could be that your home speakers are a bit tinny sounding and that's causing it?
 3.
That would be cool if you had a big enough stage. If not, you'll just have to go straight over the guitarist's pedals - give him some "overdrive" he'll never forget
Doing some tricks off of his whammy? Yeah, unfortunately stage size stops these kinds of shenanigans at the moment
 4.
Stick some castors on your keyboard stand
I've considered mounting my keyboard on a Segway
 5. JJ Burnell (I'd only played bass 4 weeks and was my first gig) and Herman Li
 6.
Just understand the odds. Very few local level bands make it huge or rake it in. At the local level,if a band is gigging once a week your doing good, Blue
Yeah, I know lol Probably the closest I've had with an originals band was averaging 4 gigs a week. Unfortunately it was short-lived and our vocalist had a meltdown
 7.
I think when your in this for creativity, art and fun you can relax and play whatever you like and have a ball. When your in it to make money and gig a lot, your probably going to have to make a few compromises. Blue
Yep, completely agree. Although I want to have fun and gig a lot. Money just needs to be maintainable with lifestyle, if we suddenly make it huge and rake it in that would be awesome
 8.
An hour's drive away. But this is the kind of thing I mean. It was the same when I was looking for a bass teacher. "Oh there's loads". Closest: 30 mins drive. Whereas in Leeds or Manchester or Liverpool this stuff would have been on my doorstep, and pretty much everywhere. Other people's loads does not equal my loads.
I'm in st neots though I know there's one in St Neots town and one in Bedford. I'm pretty sure I've been to one in Cambridge but sodded if I can remember where!
 9.
Maybe I've just not found them then. Any jam nights i should know about?
I think there's something at one of the esquire (Bedford) venues on Wednesdays. Not been myself but probably should as I know both the engineer and the owner :/
 10.
Symphonic metal? Whatever next, lol.
This is who we've been compared to most, though neither they or us are strictly symphonic metal in the traditional sense : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmo06CrXP4M
 11. I think I remember Fumps saying that Mayo removes glue residue
 12.
When you look at the list of Premium luthiers who use them one is tempted to conclude that many if not most people think. Highly of Bartolini. I have never had a bass with them fitted, not sure if I have even played one, but have listened to a few being played by others and generally they sound good to me. So my question stands, anyone tried these on the new Spectorcore?
Oh yeah, I wasn't stating they were bad. Just that I've never got on with them myself. They don't suit me
 13.
That's cool when you're 25 but starts to wear a bit thin when you're in your 30s and trying to balance a gigging band with a full time job and maybe a family. There is a market for live music in most areas and if you want to gig you need to position yourself in that market. The bigger the market in the area that you live, the more options you will have.
I'm 29 and the vocalist is a similar age, all the other members are 30s and 40s. It's an hour + for all of us to get to band practice where we do our writing, tightening and generally bond as a band. A family would be a difficulty but otherwise we all hold down full time jobs and relationships quite easily The thing is, with a genre like symphonic metal you need to get the good gigs where you can. It's a fairly tight knit community and it's not the easiest to push your way in.
 14.
Still depends on what you want to do. If you want to gig and make money, your really going to have to start a band that has commercial appeal and can get consistent work. Starting a band and writing your own songs would be limited at best. If there's no originals scene then people are probably not going to be interested in hearing your songd. Blue
There's definitely an originals scene in the UK, just some people aren't willing to make the slightly longer drives. When my band are out and gigging I already have promoters primed and ready in most of the major places in the UK. Some of those gigs will be a 4 hour drive and we'll be lucky to get petrol money back playing between 30 and 45 minutes but at that stage it's just about getting out there, playing and getting a percentage of the audience to remember you
 15. This looks really good, has anyone had a chance to compare to the big boys toys (axefx and kemper)?
 16. One of the best sounds I managed to get while I was at uni (without using some of the ridiculously price mics...) was a AKG D112 Close and Central and a Large Omnidirectional 1m out. I wouldn't do it in a untreated room though. Maybe try a AKG D112 @ 6" and a Rode NT1A @ 1m
 17. You're definitely going to have to dismantle to do it yourself though
 18.
Not wishing to hijack the thread, but why?
Personal preference I guess. They've always sounded brittle for (lack of a better) word to me
 19. Refinishing isn't cheap, don't underestimate the amount of work involved in even a "simple" colour
 20. Never found a Bartolini pickup I've liked unfortunately
 21. Jesus, I didn't realise how much Mexican necks cost new! I've got one somewhere from before I upgraded it with a Shuker neck... there's not much left of that bass that's original though to be honest!
 22.
I quite like TB, used to be on there a lot before BC - the main thing I disliked was the US based marketplace. Hardly their fault I've been given warnings there for things that I wouldn't do here, but their house, their rules etc. Lots of good info there and some friendly people, but sadly not many Vigier players - for that I head to French forum OnlyBass
Stop advertising other forums you fool!
 23.
'Sfunny, I quite like Talkbass for what it is, rather than bemoaning what it isn't. Admittedly I spend waaay more time here on Basschat, and the two vibes are different, but it's just like going to your parents' silver wedding do rather than out for several pints with your mates. . I bet everyone here would act slightly differently at the two events! :-)
Well yeah... seeing as I never met my dad I think I would be a lot more confused at the silver wedding do
 24.
A lot of great music came out the 80s & 90s. A lot of what's consider new is not new to me. It's what happens after you hit a certain age. Blue
Only if you stop listening I make a conscious effort to listen to atleast one band I haven't heard before a week
