1. Depends on the project, generally if I want to drop tune then I'm on my ACG, if I want standard or near too then it's my modded fender. If I want extended range then it's my yamaha and if I need it to sound thin and weedy I use my guitar
2. I used to use the Line6 Studio 110 and the 300pro. I used to use the synths fine on both. You have to play extremely cleanly though. It'll also help if you crank the treble up (as it's using note recognition). A line like hysteria is probably a bit quick for it though. I used to mess around playing Deeper underground with it
3. Yamaha are great basses. If you really NEED / WANT a custom then I would say ACG is probably your best bet. I absolutely love Shukers and will have one oneday but they will probably fall just outside your budget. Just remember that customs come with a nice LONG wait though
4. Maybe you would be better off with in ears if you still want a bit of presence?
5. I've got a real thing for this kind of metal lately, it's just all about the energy and people being able to join in. I've been trying to form a band around these lines for ages but finding the right vocalist is a sodding nightmare... Current Listens : Egypt Central Atreyu Adelitas Way
6. Why are we suddenly talking about terrible literature
7.
Not in music maybe (where creativity and individuality are valued - unless you are a certain type of session player!) but in pretty much every other field, the pros are significantly better than the talented amateurs - which is why people are prepared to pay for their services!
What if someone chooses not to go pro?
8.
if that's the case, you wouldn't pay any attention to anyone at all, which is another way to go but I was responding to someone who wrote that they would trust the ears, experience, perspective and judgement of a novice over a pro. The notion that a top pro lacks skills that a novice has is pretty silly, right? That's saying that the pro was never a novice and never had the experience of a novice; learning, experimenting; failing; succeeding, etc., etc., etc. That's the sort of thing that angry/ jealous/ resentful people say.....in order to feel better about what they percieve to be lacking in their own life and think they should/ could have achieved it but for some (usually lame) excuse......
It's worth noting that being a pro doesn't automatically make you better
9. Oi Alex, I want my bribe money back!
10.
...you obviously didn't vote for greenburst then.
Not even a little bit
11. Wow, tiny writing. Could it be the earthing?
12. IIRC warwicks (even in passive mode) still use the battery so that could be worth looking at
13. New strings should ALWAYS be louder... there's something dodgy going on
14. Yodel have actually been pretty good with me recently. If you contact them on their app they're extremely helpful
15. Lovely bass though! Not sure of the best way forward, the less honest part of me is saying that the bass never arrived
16. Replace the white with black and it would be even better imo!
17. I turned up at an outside gig with my Hartke Kilo and Berg NV610 and the sound engineer was telling me to turn down during soundcheck... he looked rather embarrassed when I told him that the amp was muted because I was tuning
18. Asking people to fill out a bunch of detail might be an issue as we have an issue with getting price and a sold notification at the moment
19. Can't believe this is still around...
