We're excited about these! We have rather a large marketing challenge on our hands because what most people are failing to notice is that these are true full-range PA speakers that do BIG lows. They're not like the usual small boxes you get on stands - apart from being that light! If your band only puts vocals, guitar and horns through the PA system and never uses the PA to also play recorded music, then they'd be complete overkill. They're designed to replace much larger tops + subs rigs, hence the cost. Push them hard with kick drums, bass guitar, synths etc. Back when we first used two Big Baby Ts as a PA system they were used for drum 'n bass at club levels and sounded awesome. The FR800s can do that. They're nothing like those plastic Mackies you see everywhere, despite also being 2-way active 12" boxes. Much like a Super Compact is nothing like a cheap practice 1x12" bass combo, despite both containing one 12" speaker. So how can we explain this to people? Any local (Brighton) bands want to borrow a pair?
What would you say the closest competition is in terms of "accepted" PA rigs? Might be a good way to get it across to people
I can't believe I didn't think of that!!!!!!! Absolutely brilliant!! I've ordered translucent deep purple shells with black cables. You did actually get the clef right though. I've put a gold clef on each ear and, well, so I don't lose 'em, I've got my name on 'em too!! You'll have to imagine the gold writing!
I got the purple and the clef right atleast Went green with the other so it's easy to tell which is which and so it matches your shuker when it's flipped
Colours? Well I'm playing with the 1964 designer so that I can upload a picture!

One of these coupled with an axefx or kemper and you could be onto something a bit special if it's up to it sonically

f? Yep you're crazy

Not had a chance to listen yet but I'd be careful with soundcloud as it's actually VERY easy to download tracks from there (loads of tools online)
jfinkle would appear to have been banned since posting that comment, so you may not get that elaboration. I'm hoping that the ban is due to some behaviour that's not obvious via their posts, otherwise it would seem a rather heavy-handed reaction from the mods!
It was me that administered the ban, for different reasons than this thread though
You'll need a device that is at least 6-part multi-timberal and allows each part to be put into Mono Mode in order to get anything useful out of it.
Should be manageable and if not there's protools

Might try hooking it up to my keyboard

I've got one of these from when I was massively into playing rockband... wonder if I could get it to do the same
From a moderator? Really? Should I just quit here?
Ofcourse not If I had posted the same topic as this conan would have posted the same comment eventually try not to take it personally. When discussing in a thread try to imagine you are actually stood in a group of friends. If you were having the same conversation in person and the same joke came up I expect you would have either laughed or rolled your eyes and moved on and ignored it

Low output from Rode NT4 mic solved. Here's how...
charic replied to ShergoldSnickers's topic in Recording
I like rode a lot Some of the best vocal mics I've used have been Rode -
Thanks for all the thoughts guys I've managed to move on my gear today and I found an Ibanez RG350DXZ in BStock at Thomann for £240. With the money saved I'm upgrading the neck and bridge to Dimarzio Illuminators
GAK are doing some RG models brand new for only £359.00: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/ibanez-rg350dxz-bk-black/108531
Yeah, I've managed to find one a fair bit cheaper too. Just need to sell my stuff quickly and hope it sticks around!!
They are very versatile, but they are ultimately (as the looks indicate) rock machines.
That's cool, I'd like to be able to get relatively decent clean tones too

The RGs are that good then? The guitars I like the "look of" so far are these : http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_guitars_detail.asp?stock=14123111323258 http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/ibanez-rg470-mpl-guitar-red-pre-used.html http://www.dv247.com/guitars/esp-guitars-ltd-mh-103qm-electric-guitar-see-thru-blue--58850 I've played a couple of RGs before and quite like them, the problem is I'm just starting out on guitar really and don't know how to distinguish from spec what I like yet like I can with bass to an extent
