2. I'm no guitarist but what about Hughes and Kettner?
3. Bill Fitzmaurice count? (BFM) technically not manufacturers though :/
4.
Slightly embarrassed PM
Don't be embarrassed they're STILL my favourite band
5.
This Often happens out of Practical necessity. I worked as a stage lighting tech on many productions including live music award ceremonies. In this instance there just isn't enough time to adjust the levels between artists so some it all of the acts will have some or all parts played from a recording. It works really well, unless of coarse something goes wrong, like the only guitarists strap breaks!
I've seen this argument come up a couple of times and it makes me chuckle. Seperate sets of wireless and amps kept out of the way. Levels determined seperately pre-game during the sound check. I assume they've got a budget big enough for atleast one channel per performer so no level changing is needed. I don't see how it's all that complicated? Infact I'm pretty sure that many if not most of us here could organise it with a decent enough budget.
6.
it just sounds as if someone's hitting their head on a piano
Have you been knicking my tabs again?
7. It's just a very treble heavy sound whereas I tend to prefer being able to open up the treble completely and still gets plenty of bass giving a nice rounded sound As above really, personal taste
8. The clarity and responsiveness is out of this world, plus its they give a really nice HOT signal
9.
Fair play mate, you are more adventurous than me. Must be my old ages, obviously. I agree, I used to a BTB 6 string and they just never sat right with me. I'd put Delano pick-ups in (if they designed a 7 string bass set).
I don't know about adventurous I'd probably drop in some EMG's along the lines of Doods 7 string.
10. I'd give it a go I love the upper registers on basses. The only thing is BTB's have always sounded a bit weedy to me so I'd want to change the pickups/electrics
11. Ibanez and Warwick would be my first port of call but... how about a nice Yamaha? I'm not sure if they're still going but a Yamaha TRB1005F could fit the bill very nicely
12. That's pretty damn impressive
13. No problem with linking to your blog as far as I'm aware unless it's promoting gear for sale or the like for obvious reasons. Sidenote : Sooo tempted to leave a reply on that blog
14. Why does it remind me of the NES / Original Gameboy?
15.
Now thats a sweet looking bass sir!
Thanks Mexican P bass, upgraded with : SD 1/4lb, BAII and a Shuker neck (Shuker neck added in memory of my nan, hence here nickname on the headstock)
16.
Strikes Reset... ...
Fixed
17.
I'll get in line
If for some reason my fishtank plans do not come about I shall give you a shout buddy
18.
I was fairly stroppy wasn't I?
I actually thought it was well reasoned, it just looks funny amongst all of the "I like the rifle bass" type comments
19. Good point, I just got a notification it was created. I'll move it to basses
