1.
So... to summarise. Shell has reported herself for 'being stupid', Les has reported Dad3353 for making him look stupid, discreet has been reported by everyone for being an offensive Widow Tw***y, Marvin's computer has reported him for cruelty and Dad3353 has reported Bassman Sam for poking fun at his bottom. So that's all good then.
You forgot Ped... I'm reporting you
2. Would the effect be different on flats to rounds?
3. Alpher really do seem to be putting out some good stuff
4. Tell him you're playing it this way as a training technique as you find it too easy to play otherwise
5. I'm not sure about softer, it just made my picking technique shallower
6.
I agree that you'd be hard pushed to beat Peavey for budget bass quality.
It's pretty close between Peavey/Yamaha imho... Peavey do this prettier finishes though
7.
But I think I'll put any crimbo money towards some mods
Thanks!
8. If you can try and get a lesson or two first, then when you go to a music shop you'll be able to try it out. For your first bass you should be looking for comfort and something that you enjoy looking at in my opinion. If you don't look at it and think "I want to play that" then you wont. Comfort is the next most important thing as it will help you develop proper technique and you wont be compensating for a bass that isn't right for you Good luck with your hunt!
9. I play with a pick but when I was playing one of Doods Shukers it had a ramp on and I found it a very interesting experience. If I was getting another custom made (in a solid colour) I would definitely allow for an addition of a ramp if I felt like it
10.
Hey! Stop it you!
.. Have you considered Ba... No no, I'll be good.. How about EA... Ouch! Stop it!! Fine, TK.... Arrrrgh the agony
11. This? http://www.philjonespuresound.com/products/?id=139
12. Haha I like it, although I would say it's probably a touch closer to agnostic than atheist though
13. Do you have any concepts for acoustic instruments? Maybe if enough people got interested and put down deposits it would be enough to cover the initial outlay?
14.
Personally if I was going to do it I'd probably go the other way---rounds on the E/A and flats on the D/G. I think this would give a much better balance of timbre across the instrument. But why not give it a go? It could sound ace.
You could string two basses up and actually use both full sets
15. How abount Steel E and A and Nickel D and G?
16.
Could you stop going on and on and on and on about the aesthetics of our cabs until you've seen one of the generation three examples then?
That depends... can you make me a version with smiley faces on the cones?
17. Oooh another chance to post my new beastie [sharedmedia=core:attachments:148729] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:148730] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:148733] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:148731]
18.
a Bedford Rascal is ideal for removal men in a van forum because a whole load of florists love them... Horses for courses!
You've just reminded me of top gear
19. Or a roland midi system Seriously though I would tune to A# and play from there
20. I would love to see his take on it. I expect he'd just make it with thinner paint and give it to JJ for a week
