1.
Not happy with some of the advice so far... tapping!? WtF?
Two handed tapping would have been my approach if I couldn't match the tempo with the octave jump. Makes perfect sense
 2.
I've just got cat hairs on mine. I think I'm missing out!
Must ignore obvious euphemism...
 3.
Where in the Highlands are you?
The high bit? ...sorry
 4. Congrats mate Chuck a review up when it arrives!!
 5.
Thanks Dan, and thanks to charic too! DV have (reluctantly) price matched the hartke and thrown in their 4 year warranty so I've went for it. Should be here Friday. Happy! Now, how do I break the news to the wife! Seriously, thanks guys, a 500w hartke for £250! Sick!
Yeah DV will always price match In all honestly they've probably made a loss on that particular unit. They made a loss fairly often when I dealt with them apparently. When we got my singers microphone they actually said they'd 1p profit on it
 6.
Also for the studio I could do with a couple of good mics for amps. I have a few SM57s and a sennheiser E906, and often use my vocal mics (NT1A, SE2200) in combination, but I feel like I could do with something a little fancier - any ideas?
That depends on budget and end goal my friend! I love most Neumann mics though.
 7.
That Mark King chap seems to be able to lift his up under his chin, so his must be the lightest...
He's actually holding it "down" with his chin you know? It's a helium bass
 8.
Any questions on CTM's etc just shout, also you guys are aware we run a UK Custom Shop on site at the Farm in Essex? We often have people come down to tune and tweak their amps when they want something very particular, it's great fun and Dave Green really enjoys nailing exactly what someone is after. Also nice to know as a customer that your amp sounds like your amp and different to everyone elses, thats the beauty in making things in the UK as far as we're concerned. Also done quite a lot of crazy finishes over the years too
I always love it when manufacturers chime in on here In regards to this thread could the head that was bought have a DI added to allow for a gigging situation? That would seem to solve the OPs problem as far as I can tell
 9. Hartke LH500 is only just outside your budget from Digitial Village available here in budget http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/hartke-lh-500.html?gclid=CJfF49z9wLkCFcKR3godXh4AIw Then call digital village and ask them to price match http://www.dv247.com/guitars/hartke-lh500-bass-guitar-amp-head--49122
 10. Doesn't someone here have a metal bass? My Yamaha RBX6JM is pretty hefty but I've not weighed it lol
 11. Yeah thats the plan. My nan first introduced me to playing musoc when I was 4
 12. Simple solution here mate, when it's done I'll pick it up for you. You sort my flights and accommodation and I'll drop it off
 13. Things are well underway with Jon and the spraying will be happening soon. As my dear nan departed I've decided the decal should be her name which rather happily happens to be Miriam or Mim to everyone who knew her. So... the headstock is going to have "MIM" written on it which is a happy coincidence as it started life as a Mim fender Here's a rough mockup! My design skills are near non existent so any ideas are quite welcome
 14.
Would have to say its a little bit worrying at this stage whether or not its going to be reliable enough over a few yrs. ??
Any amp can get a fault, part of the reason I went with Hartke was because of their renowned customer service . I find it rather important to be honest, same as when I went with TC
 15. It'll be a monster when it's all sorted mate Played mine at an audition the other day, played first song got compliments on sound but thought it needed a bit more "oomph" so I kicked in the GEQ (set to a low mid hump) and hit a note. The response? Both guitarists taking a step back then grinning, followed by the drummer grinning and saying "keep that". Got the spot too
 16. That definitely doesn't sound right... you'd have a job speaking over my kilo when it's set to 2... I wonder if the tube got damaged in transit or something? Don't give up just yet, sounds like you've just been unlucky mate
 17.
Open for business now - 10% discount for you for spotting, or would you rather have an Oozie ?
Is that a cheap knockoff of an Uzi? Sounding really good mate
 18.
I wrote it over a couple of days, whilst walking the dogs. Put it into Sibelius, created a midi file, populated it with Misoslav Philharmonik's solo cello and posted it. Took about 35 minutes.
I am so tempted to change this into a metal version I think it could work well
