1. Oooh I've not tried them both for ages. Will have to check.
 2.
Water under the bridge, eh? Is that why the thread title clearly suggests Kiwi is not lovely? Is that why you feel the need to repeat your oversensitive response to an interwebs remark? Is that why you feel the need to use constructs like "well within my rights" and "to the point of slander"? Well, I don't buy it. You could simply have said: "Kiwi, mate, I don't know what happened, but as far as I can remember, I've never done what you think I've done." We all know what you opted for instead. The pressure on Kiwi must have been enormous. Myself having been on the receiving end of similar, potentially income threatening remarks, I surely think I understand your feelings. They can however be dealt with in vastly better ways. best, bert
Hi Bert, While I appreciate that you're trying to fight Kiwis corner for him the best thing that can possibly happen now is that this saga comes to an end. What most people don't realise is that as soon as you become a mod or admin you have to watch every word you say with extra care. These days posts take me easily twice the time to construct because I have to read them back, edit them until I'm sure that no offence can come of it. You also have to consider what direction a comment that you make is going to take a thread which is much more difficult. For example : While I understand that this post is likely to generate further responses on a subject that we would prefer to come to an end. I also hope that it will take the conversation on an ultimately more pleasant path than it usually takes. I'm asking that this subject can come to an end, it's not good on the site, it can't be pleasant for guy, I know its not pleasant for kiwi and that in fact it's not good for me or the rest of the team. We've got a well established bassist here, one with a wealth of experience that he seems willing to share. Lets focus on the positives and try not to hound him too much eh
 3. You could get a kemper profiling amp, make a few takes of your svt and then sell the svt and hlf on. Then you can use it through whatever cab or indeed just the di and keep your sound no matter the volume.
 4. Line6 Lowdown 110, should find one second without much issue

http://basschat.co.uk/topic/207088-for-sale-acg-finn-4-graft/
 6. It needs some chips on the lower horn where you left it resting unsecured against you amp and it fell over, which means the headstock would have got knocked too. Also those tuners are a bit shiny
 7.
I've started a band. I advertised for musicians & put the genre as being a mix of Acid Jazz, Breakbeat, House & Funk & anything else with a good groove. I've got 2 guitarists (one's a musician & sings too), a drummer & a singer/turntablist. I suggested a couple of covers to get us playing together & then once we're comfortable, get writing our own stuff. I've suggested a few songs for the band to choose from & if they had any good suggestions then we could try them out too. They're just practice tracks to get us gelling, but what some of the band have suggested couldn't be much further from any of the styles that I advertised. Here's what I've been given... From the guitarist: Bruce Dickinson - Winds of change From the guitarist/singer: Barenaked Ladies - It's all been done From the drummer: Bruce Springstein - Radio nowhere From the turntablist/singer: Hot Natured - Benediction The last one is the only one that's already along the right lines of the genre. The first 2 are @ 134 bpm & Radio Nowhere is 140 bpm, so I'm thinking that they could be done in more of a house/acid jazz style. But it would have made more sense to pick songs already in the genre. We're gonna try them out on Tuesday, so we'll see what comes of them. Any of you guys have to rewrite the genre of a song?
I wrote death metal versions of Brianstorm by Arctic Monkeys and "Feeling Good" (the Muse version). More for fun than any practical reason though
 8. First port of call would be trying to swap the kettle leads around I think. If it swaps sides then problem found. After that it MAY be a capacitor but that's an absolute guess
 9.
Is there a correlation here?
Nope I did audio and music tech Got 67% on my dissertation too

 16.
People argue that cables make no difference and people argue that they do. I think the quality of stuff can make a difference in every aspect of your life, so why not cables? If your ears are good enough to hear a difference and if that difference is important to you, then your choice of cables might improve your sound. I have an email from Phil Taylor, one of Dave Gilmore's sound guys, and he talks about the audible differences to be found in cables. I'd believe his ears more than anyone else’s here. So, if you're running good gear, be safe and get the best cables you can for sensible money. I use OBBM's cables, because they are good quality and they won’t break the bank. I have met Dave a few times and he's a good guy, he's a member on BC and, again, his cables sound good to me.
You forgot that they're built to last
 17. If you copy and paste it will sound like you copy and pasted Maybe try things like these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jARlecFBXhQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SAljfVnc2Q

 19.
Call it the 'Sag Bastard' and I'll have one.
If we link this with the curry thread we could call it the "Saag Bast*rd"
 20.
'Yeah but it just don't have that valve 'bounce' does it. That's the main problem wiv all this digital sh*t'
That's it, I'm changing my life goals. You heard it here first folks.... I'm going to make "The Bouncinator"!
 21.
Does this gear obsession (other than the bass itself) only extend to analogue kit? If the musician was using digital modeling equipment like Axe FX, POD, Kemper, etc. would anyone give a f***?
Christ... can you imagine gearspotting a Kemper... "What USB stick is he using?" "The Red One" "We think thats an SVT clone on that one don't we?"
 22.
I've got a couple of Spectors, might as well go to the original
Unless he wants a corvette, infinity, buzzard, vampyre etc...
 23. One day I hope I'm famous enough to have gearstalkers, that would be great fun. "I'm going to emulate charics sound".... Good bloody luck unless you get yourself an ACG
 24. Am I reading this right that you're now wrapping your thumb over the top of the neck? If so, there's your cause I reckon!
