Seeing as I don't know the tracks I decided to go alphabetically At the moment Aerodynamic and Around the world IIRC.

Been feeling a bit of a dry spell with finding new challenging bass lines that are difficult but achievable. Thought I'd try some daft punk. Outside of my usual comfort zone stylistically but thought what the hell. Bloody hell this is a culture shock

I'll try and get the voting up today Nice work everyone
OK fair enough, toys back in pram now. Didn't read that way though imho.
This was the give-away for me
D'uh! Obviously they do. It's a big company with a big marketing budget that knows exactly what it's doing and are super savvy to forums and how they work as well as a thorough understanding of sub-branding. As someone who is a marketing and product management specialist I see that they are very calculating, clever and set a great precedent. Good on them but please don't be so naive.

Really? Seems a little odd. But heh, I'm no expert! Out of interest, was it the buyers or sellers who didn't like the idea of such a system? I could understand sellers seeing it a "bit of a faff" at first... but as a buyer I think it'd make things much easier. Then again if it ain't broken, don't fix it, etc.
It was all a bit too formal and not really in fitting with the basschat feel, we'll probably give it another shot sometime
-
We tried going down that route, people said they didn't like it
That my friends is Simon Quinlank, the king of hobbies and it looks like that week, his hobby was playing bass.......
So after 16 pages we actually get a match?!
-
No no, I mean include a link to the ad you have paid for. Is that allowed?
Nope, because we would have to check every link to make sure that it actually goes to your for sale ad.
-
Really? I didn't know that... I wonder why...
It's because we can't allow private sales from a signature, they have to be from the for sale forum. The signature would be a way to dodge this.
But.... these people are now paying, in effect, for an ad... Should there be such a firm 36 hrs...??
Yep, because everyone else is also paying for their ad

Switch to the TC Electronic style rig from large Ashdown all Valve rig
charic replied to CPBass's topic in Amps and Cabs
300 What?
300 TCEW's (TC Electronic watts ) The TC stuff is good, I just moved on because I fancied a change.. which reminds me I still need to take photos of my amp The cabs are good too, not Berg good but still very good. -
This. It's a model of how an Internet forum should be. The mods should be harder on the 36 hour bumping rule in market place but that's my ONLY criticism. They do a good job and I have learned lots here from the people
We're pretty firm but can you imagine trying to spot it constantly. It gets REALLY boring
thanks for the response guys im afraid a single 6x10 will be a bit much in 1 cab as i would like to be able to throw it in the car (focus estate) as i do with this one from time to time, id rather go with multiple smaller cabs as such I've been looking at the tc electronic blacksmith with 3x 2x12 cabs as an idea but im struggling to find anyone in the midlands with the cabs in stock so i can have a listen, I have however had a play with a pair of bergantino hd210 cabs with the genz benz shuttlemax 9.2 and i was quite pleased with the overall clarity of the rig but it seemed to lack that low end push I was hoping for.
The Nv610 goes in the back of my focus hatchback without any issues lol. The blacksmith is a beast of an amp!
There's also a heavy metal version of this that's been going for a couple of years, and apparently is really successful! http://www.70000tons.com/ EDIT: Totally beaten to it by charic
One of these days I'm going to have to go. Looks too much fun not too. What's really clever is every band plays 3 times so that you have a chance to see every band playing (there are 3 stages).
You are forgiven Mr Del Var on condition that you take delivery of an urgent Parcelforce package for a Mr Icastle....
Somewhat fittingly, parcelforce arrived at my house just 2 hours ago. I was disappointed, they brought the wrong PC case dammit!
-
moderators have appeared to be mature
Oi, I'll have you know I work very hard to appear immature!
Ahh, but which cruise is best for metal? I'd say Costa Concordia for rock.
70000 tons of metal or Barge to hell

I can only really echo the above. Maybe work on your fingerstyle a bit, which seems "weaker" than your slap. Maybe bring the bass down in the mix too, you're supposed to be playing "with" the band after all
Don't assume that 10s have less depth
Definitely agree with this. When I got my hartke kilo I turned it up to halfway just for sh*ts and giggles. Unfortunately, it ACTUALLY gave me an upset stomach and I had to leave the room I quite literally got what I asked for

Sensible? Who said anything about sensible?
I use a TC Electronics G-Major 2 which has all my compression, phase, flange, octaver, delay, reverb etc. No overdrive sounds though, which is ok for me as I dont need them.
Just got one of these myself, fantastic unit. I'm still treading a fine line trying to stop clipping it though

Depends what type of budget you're looking at... I've just moved to a Bergantino NV610 (6 x 10 but only weighs in at 45kg) tonnes of volume, paired with a hartke Kilo. Easily loud enough for anything I'll ever need and versatile enough too! I currently play Folk and Metal (separately you understand). If your're set on class D then the TC Electronic RH series have a good sound to them and the DI out is very pleasing to the ear
