1.
So why did this product never come to market?
It was another P bass clone
2.
Wouldn't surprise me. A singer in an old band of mine was good mates with Dianno's manager and met him quite a few times. He was virtually unrecognisable from the Iron Maiden days by the 90's and onward. He woud send his manager out to Europe looking for a half decent IM tribute act, hire them (sans singer) and then book live dates with them backing PD doing older IM songs. He did have his own bands doing original material after IM but none were particularly successful. I've heard quite a few fans say they were a much better live act with PD but I doubt anyone could realistically say that he was a better singer than Bruce. They made a very calculated risk to get a singer they thought would take them to a higher level and it paid off in spades.
Yep one of the guys here at work says that PD is the better singer... I've never disagreed as he's my bosses boss. I've never agreed either though
3.
Yes, that's right.
Cool!
4. Here's a thought... try selling it to Mr Hall himself saying you will happily help his claim along it's way by selling it to him and allowing him to do with it as he wishes for £XXX
5.
'Seemingly' is right. It can be the case that a pop song has generic programmed synth or sampled bass on it to provide bottom end (and not necessarily playing a 'bass line' as such, either) and then the 'bass player' appears on stage or in a video miming with a generic 'real' bass - inevitably a Precision.
So what you're saying is if you're playing a Precision you're miming?
6. I'm in Huntingdon about 20 minutes from Cambridge. I have a newly acquired (for me) NV610 which you are welcome to try
7. I use the full site on my Galaxy Note 2 Excellent for pretty much everything
8. Wow... the odds on that happening are pretty slim
9. Im in east but not north! If you can make it to here youre more than welcome
10.
I noticed it, assumed it was an error and moved on. I didn't read it, though.
READ IT!!! OUT LOUD! Every time you see it!
11. Any of the TC ELECTRONIC RH series amps have that too
12.
If it's Iron Maiden beer I expect it'll pretend to be heavier than it is , be consistently average , cost more than it's worth and already be past it's sell by date.
I'm trying to envisage whether he would buy you another pint for having the bottle to say this to his face or whether he'd tell you to sod off. In my head he would laugh and order you another Guiness
13.
That's just bizarre! It's bad enough that bass players have chips on their shoulders about Fenders, but why on earth would, for example, a keyboard player or vocalist have a strong opinion about the bass you turn up with? Where does that attitude come from I wonder? If somebody wants me to play bass, or even audition for them to do so, then they have to accept my taste in instruments - which may include Fender, but certainly does not begin and end with them! I've had plenty of funny looks and "witty" comments about my Status, but to my knowledge have never had any responses along the lines of "sorry mate, you're a good player but we just don't think your bass would fit into this band...". Have other people experienced that? There are some strange people in this world...
I've seen an ad or two saying you MUST have an ampeg stack and a MIA Fender P to audition for this band.
14.
I'm quite happy with bolt-ons but I'd agree with this. The one other (not very important) advantage of bolt-on is that when you drop it down the stairs it's easy to fit a new neck.
I'll be honest, this is why I've always opted toward bolt ons. If I screw up a neck somehow then I can get a new one fitted relatively easily
15.
I've managed to break it ;-) http://chordify.net/...ptember-bigredx
was a bit of a mean challenge for it. However, it does seem to be following certain changes in the sounds on the composition and the intervals seemed to line up with what I was hearing
16. It's cool that you can upload your own tracks to it aswell
17. Ok this is pretty impressive! http://chordify.net/chords/dream-theater-constant-motion-dreamtheater Excellent practice tool!
18. I've decided to challenge it. Sorry if it breaks The challenge is "constant motion" by dream theater
19. Will do mate and thanks No need to google the links are in my sig
20. Just a cheeky advertisement. A band I've just joined "Gossip Wolf and the Fox" are in a "battle of the bands" event on the 22nd March in Cambridge at the Portland Arms. Pop over and say hi if you can make it. (PS. This isn't that horrible screamy metal that I usually play this is Indie / Acoustic / Folk for a complete change of pace)
