1. On ebay for a price sufficient to cover the fees! I will of course end the auction for the price specified in this thread for BCers that are intersted.
2. Cranberries, Aston Villa Leisure Centre - 19965/6. One or the other.
3.
PM sent.
Still available.
4. Dunno, makes a farting noise when you play through it. Just wondered if the amp delivered its full 280w at 4 or 8 ohm
5. Now then folks, my mate has just bought a Trace Elliot combo. It needs a new speaker - the front panel of the amp says "GP7 SM Bass Preamp 300" and it's one of the old, carpet covered 115 combos with the GP7 preamp, 2 red lines across the front baffle, etc. I want to help source a new speaker for him (hence the ad in the wanted section), would I be right in thinking these things produce their full 300 (280w RMS) watts at 4 ohms and therefore, we could probably get away with sticking a 200w 8 ohm speaker in there? In the meantime, if anybody has a 4ohm 400w 15" driver, hit me up!
6. We do I Touch Mesen and Take Another Little Piece - we do a sort of cross between the Janis Joplin and the Beverly Knight versions
7. And photos emailed. This bass is only for sale while Phil's Sandberg 5 is still available - if it sells before I have a chance to sell this, then this P will go back to trade only for a 5 as I have gigs coming up and can't really be without a bass. And more photos: Terrible pic - sorry
8. Thanks for the suggestion but if Phil's Sandberg goes before I can sell this, then my P will be withdrawn.
9. Ah you missed Mr Plow at the Musician last night The Falling Leaves at the Musician on the 18th Dec will be a good one too!
10.
Yeh I was just wondering which way to wire them up. Which is the receiving hole, and which one is the sending hole (wheyyy, inyourendo!....before anyone says it!), of the 1/4 inch sockets on the 1x15s? And does the speakon on the 4x8s send power to the 1x15s?
My ABM300 Head has two outs - one speakon and one 1/4" I am assuming that you send one to each cab rather than linking the cabs and the cabs may have been designed that way
11. Quick title edit. Having missed Phil_the_bassist's Sandberg JM5 up for sale, this is back to trade only guys, sorry. Comes in a Hiscox and with a brand new set of DR Hi-Beams fitted. There are some marks on it, there is a very small soldering iron burn on the body by the jack plug, some general play wear and a couple of miniscule lacquer chips on the edge of the fingerboard that was all there when I got it. Other than that it's a great bass - made in 04. Very Q&D pic as I am in the middle of cooking the tea but I am happy to take more pics as and when they are required.
12. I ended up getting them from www.pjbox.co.uk for £59 delivered (£55 + p&p). I'm still pissed off at myself for losing them but it will teach me to not keep them in the pouch.
13. Cheers Andy I think that the one he's after is ending on ebay tomorrow morning so if it goes and this doesn't, I think he'll be hanging onto this one for a little while longer!
14.
The one that will match up with my 4x8s the best. I didn't know they did more than one? So should I put a speakon to jack from the head into the 4x8, then speakon to jack from the 4x8 into the 1x15?
More specifically when they were made may have a bearing on whether they have a speakon or 2 jacks on the back. I don't think it matters which way you wire them up - I think that will depend more on how long your leads are. I'd probably put a 4x8 on top of a 1x15 but only for the position of the speakers and the sound that comes out. I don't think it matters a damn which way they're wired up.
15. Depends which Mini15 you buy. My Mini15 has a speakon and a 1/4" jack socket
16.
PM me a price if you want!
Enough to buy this Sandberg
17. No love for the Dragonfly? Me poor old dad!
18. Is this the one on ebay?
19. Flippin 'eck - does anybody want my black/black/maple MIA Precision? QUICKLY!!!
20. Right then - this is very much a feeler, mainly because it belongs to my dad and he doesn't know I've put this thread up! I know he is after a slightly different bass and would probably buy it if he could raise the funds, so if his sells he might be in a position to buy the one he wants. I won't be selling his bass without him knowing, don't worry!! It's a Michael Kelly Dragonfly fretless 5 - it came from Grand Central Music in Michigan in 2005 (or possibly 2006) before these were imported into the UK and was bought with the optional case. It's a nice looking bass - quilted maple top, back and sides and is finished in trans black, so you can see the quilt in it. It's also got this elborate inlay running the length of the fingerboard. It has a Fishman preamp and has been used with bronze acoustic bass strings. I can't comment on how it sounds or plays as I've never really played it, but knowing who it belongs to I would say it's going to be looked after and he says it sounds very nice! I can send some mp3s of the bass being used on his bands most recent recordings. Pics - the only pics I have are a stock picture which shows the inlay and a pic of dad playing the bass at my wedding in the summer. At the moment GAK sell these for £579 and a case is extra - you can get a Stagg case from them for £59. I would imagine that if he could get £400 for it plus, say, £15 to ship it, it would make up his mind one way or another whether to buy the other one he's looking at. If you did want it, collection could be made from Redditch or Solihull town centre. PM me if you're interested and I'll pass on the message, contact details for dad, etc.
21. Nobody? I'll take it up to the tip a bit later then.
22. Bought my Variax from them - perfectly happy
23. True enough. I got the originals from the David Omerod hearing place at my local Boots. I've found them for £55 a set which seems to be the cheapest in the UK, I can buy a single one for £39.99, but I figure for an extra 15 quid I might as well buy a pair in case it happens again and ALWAYYS PUT THEM BACK IN THE CASE WHEN I'VE FINISHED WITH THEM F*cks sake - it's my own bloody stupid fault, but what a pain in the bottom.
