I did think about that, but I'm not a particularly handy sort of person!! If I could do the applying the velcro to the extra board, that would be an option!!

Think I've found an NYC pedalboard which seems to be exactly what I need

so if I have an amp which has a set bias and hypothetically was running at the correct bias - could there have been something wrong with the valve to start off with which could have caused it to fail and knacker up the others?

I'd prefer a hard case, just because it offers that bit more protection, plus I don't want to have to remove the board from the case when I want to use it. I took the measurements of the pedaltrain jr off their website and it comes up smaller than the gigman, which I can just about fit 9 pedals on

I have a Diago gigman. I am generallt very pleased with it, however the biggest issue I have is that is has that 23mm lip around the edge, which means that it's difficult to put anything that doesn't have in/out jacks at the height of something like a Boss or Marshall pedals for example - which means that if you want to start your chain with something in a Hammond enclosure for example, you can't put the plug over the top of the lip, so you need to leave a gap. I know the position you put your pedals on your board doesn't necessarily dictate the order that you have to connect them up, but it helps I think, particularly if you want a neat board. So with that in mind, who makes good pedal board/case solutions, without a lip around the edge, that don't have a huge big case to keep them in (the depth of the gigman for example is ideal) and isn't too small or too big - the gigman is a good size, pedaltrain jnr is a bit small and the hardcase looks a bit big. The Warwick/Gator boards look a bit pap, so any recommendations for a good, well priced board, would be welcome Cheers

I'm with Clarky - assuming that the lacquer on Rics is nitro and not poly, that's caused by a reaction between the nitro and the rubber on a stand. It won't polish out - in fact it might not come off at all. Wouldn't bother me, but the only way to sort it out, might be a partial respray

it's pretty much the only problem I have and it's restricted to plugs going in and plugs coming out the other side and how to plug the fig 8 lead in. I think there must be a better way of doing it, but it's not that big a deal really - there are ways round it.

Kev, it's a Korg Pitchblack tuner, basically the input jack of that tuner needs to be at a height of 24mm from the base, which on a pedal that measures only 47mm, I don't think it's likely, unless I attach something to the bottom of the pedal to raise it up a bit, which I don't want to do

Can anybody who has access to their Diago pedalboard give me a quick measurement from the base of the board (inside) to the edge of the lip (ie where the lid meets)? I need to know that height so I can check if I can fit a particular pedal in a position in the chain and get clearance to put the plug in over the lip. On the Diago site, it says internal height (not depth) is 85mm, but that seems really high - with that in mind, please can someone measure the height of the input jack on a boss pedal for me from the base as I know there is clearance with one of those. I could do all this myself later, but I might get an opportunity to pop out and do some purchasing in a bit, before I get home to have a look! Cheers

I've never thought of using a Tubescreamer with a bass. Did you use a tube amp? Sounds like it was good though - how would you describe the sound?

So if a valve was faulty and perhaps overheated, taking the other valves with it, what would be wrong with that valve or valves in the first instance (hypothetically). My amp is cathode biased I believe and I also am under the impression that the bias is also fixed, or perhaps in part, pre set.
