1. Sold - it had 110 watchers in the end, although I suspect most of them were you lot!
2. +1 on the Jedson thing - my guitarist had one virtually identical. i'll try and find a pic
3. i rang specsavers this morning for some er-20s for a gig tonight. they don't have any stock in the specsavers shop in the town i work in. they can order them, but if i could wait, i'd just order 'em off ebay for half the price
4. nah - i'll get the one to be going on with (£15!) and then a couple of spares from ameri-kay. it's custom jobs for me next month
5.
You local drum shop most always have them in stock, at various degrees of attenuation, even.
actually - good call on that - i rang one place on the off chance and they sell docs, vater safe and sound and lo and behold - er-20s. just need to get there before 6pm!
6. my local sound control only stocks doc's pro plugs which i don't rate - i had a pair for a while, but binned them in the end
7. i'm going to Peterborough!! On sunday I managed a quick skim through the ear plugs sticky and saw that specsavers sell ER-20s but I don't know if they stock them and they're £14 (compared with the £8 I can get 'em on ebay for)
8. guys - i know i should search the ear plugs threads but my ER-20s have gone walkabout and i have two gigs this weekend so I am in a mild panic and a slight rush to replace them. Mail order ain't going to do the job, so I need to know if anybody has bought a set of ER-20s from a shop. Answers on a postcard. Cheers.
9. try www.westone.info there should be a spares section on there, but i don't know what he's got exactly
10.
more often than not it will get done every 2 weeks when I'm replacing the strings.
new strings every two weeks?!?
11. does the "SECOND" stamp indicate that it was a factory second when it was produced?
12. i think - and don't quote me on that - but the "t" stands for tweeter and the "h" stands for horn. there was an old ABM210T down on a second hand shop on the Narb in Leicester
13. a plastic tool box from aldi - the top trays in the lid hold stuff like string winder, capo, small tools, picks, etc. The lift out tray holds the bigger stuff - tuner, pliers, screwdrivers, torch, stuff like that and the box bit holds leads, straps, etc/
14. i taught myself. I learned to play a guitar by playing with others and buy buying tab books for the bands i liked and listening to the cds and playing along. Helped me learn the chords, positions on the fingerboard followed naturally and then 9 years later, i pick up a bass.
15. oh yeah sorry - i totally forgot about that. it's been a few months since the original post and things have changed slightly since then. thanks for the interest though
16. sorry don't understand the question - i have got a USA P, but it's not for sale.
17.
I need 5 strings though these days.
no you don't, trust me
18. Now then, I went into a guitar shop at the weekend (always a mistake) and saw the most beautiful Les Paul. I'd like to try and get my hands on it, which means selling my Les Paul. It's 2003, has a nice figured top and a couple of mods, the biggest mod being the replacement of the stock bridge pickup for a Rio Grande Texas Humbucker and also the addition of a set of Graphtech string saver saddles (the old saddles were knick-knacked). I've also had a bone nut fitted as the old one was cut too low and I've had dunlop straplock strap buttons installed too. It's been seen by a couple of techs for various jobs and every tech who's looked at it has told me that it's a great example. 60s neck is very nice and it's been set up well. It has a fair bit of buckle rash on the back, the nickel hardware is starting to show its age a bit, a couple of scratches and i knocked the corner of the headstock into the drummer's cymbal at a gig - it's been well played basically but never abused. I have no reason to part with it other than I have seen on in a different finish which I was after when I bought this one (but couldn't find it), so this has to pay for it. If I can't sell it (and I know times are hard at the moment) I'll hang on to it and keep gigging it as I can't afford to put a lot of money towards a new guitar and the mrs to be expects me to pay for a wedding next year!! So, here's a pic, if you want more drop me a line. You can come and play it in Leicester or if you don't want to, I can ship it for about £15 I think - comes with the Gibson/TKL hardcase. edit: Price! Ideally I'd like £950 or thereabouts for it.
