  1. To be honest, I never even noticed the bridge plate, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, and if I was to replace it with a smaller plate, there is always the chance that the outline of the larger plate would be pressed into the paintwork.
  2. Well he's still calling it a Fender, so it looks like you will have to make your bid of £1000,😲 I would guess that the bidders (28 at the last count with the highest bid £122) probably know it's not a Fender and are looking to purchase it for a project.🤔 I would still like to see eBay take action though.
  3. 👍 Thanks for heads up, I might just treat myself to an early Xmas present. 🎄
  4. I've mostly played P basses with a Jazz neck fitted because I prefer the narrower nut, but I'm now thinking of getting myself a Sterling by Musicman SUB bass HH to give myself something a bit different. The specs state that the nut is 38mm, so if anyone owns one, I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on how the neck plays, are they similar to a Jazz neck in both feel and playability? Thanks.

  6. Unfortunately I've only just seen this post, I live in Bridgnorth (No "E" Bridgnorth btw), 😉 and probably could have helped you out, I don't have one myself but I know a few drummers who I could have contacted on your behalf. Glad you managed to get through the gig ok, where were you playing?
  7. Sennheiser HD 595 Headphones Now SOLD! I purchased these high quality headphones brand new, but I hardly ever used them due to listening to most of my music through my Hi-Fi system speakers. They are practically unmarked, and there is minimal wear to the pads and headband. Unfortunately, I no longer have the original box but they will be well packaged in another box for shipping.
  8. Thanks for all the recommendations and advice folks, I will research them all
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, I will check them out, especially at around £30 🙂
  10. Can anyone recommend a decent pair headphones for practise at home? I'm looking for something that can handle the bass well, but also be detailed enough to make the backing tracks I play along with sound half decent as well. I would prefer the cable to be detachable, but its not necessarily a deal breaker. Up to £150 is my budget.
  11. I do sometimes think that if I'd had the "tendon" procedure instead of the "plastic" procedure in the first place, then maybe the outcome would have been better. As you can see from the attached photo, having the implant is very intrusive and requires drilling into the bones either side so the implant can be fitted.
  12. Thanks, I am a lot happier now with my playing, although any musos watching would probably think I have terrible technique. It didn't stop me playing completely, but it was a struggle until recently, my bandmates were very understanding and if a certain song was too much for me, then they were happy to drop it. It could be different for your brother, and it depends on what type of procedure the specialist suggests, I might have been one of the unlucky ones. If he ever wanted to know more about my experience, just drop me a PM.
  13. I have arthritis in both thumbs and had a trapeziectomy which is an operation to remove the trapezium (small piece of bone) in my right thumb in 2007, and I was supposed to have had the left one removed at a later date. I had an plastic bone inserted in the space, six month's later, I had to have it removed because of the pain it was causing and I could hardly move my thumb at all. When the artificial bone was removed the surgeon used one of the three tendons in my wrist that runs down to the thumb, it was rolled up and inserted in the space, I was in less pain but my movement was still restricted which meant placing my thumb on the pickup or strings was not only painful, but very clumsy and restrictive. Over the years I have had to rest my palm on the bass and done my best, but over the last 12 months or so, I am getting more and more movement and can now use the pickup or strings to anchor my thumb. Needless to say, I opted out of having the other thumb done and have since been told by other surgeons that it is a procedure that often fails. I would never advise anyone to have, or not have, a trapeziectomy because its down to the individual to choose, but I was told that I would have full movement within twelve months, but its been fourteen years to get back to around 75% movement. I've attached a photo of me and my better half five days after the second op.
  14. Met up half-way with Ben to hand over my Lakland PJ which he purchased from me, a great guy and very trustworthy. Buy or sell with confidence. 🙂
  15. Thanks for the kind words, but I'm sure it would sound a lot better in the great James Jameson's hands 😏
  16. They are both P's with Jazz necks which are actually bitza's, I built them a few year's ago and I get a lot of satisfaction playing them. I only gig once a month at most, so I can't really justify having two beautiful basses just to play in pubs. 🙂
  17. Fender Limited Edition American Standard PJ Bass with Jazz Width Nut (One of The Magnificent Seven) NOW SOLD!!! This the second bass I have up for sale because I have now decided to completely trim my basses down to just two, main bass, and back-up bass, so this lovely bass which I purchased on this marketplace during lock-down, has to go as well. It is part of "The Magnificent Seven" that Fender introduced in 2016, and this is one of just 500 worldwide and is in absolutely mint condition, and comes with the original Fender hardcase. It has a Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard and has a 38mm Jazz width nut. It truly sounds and plays amazing. I have included a YouTube clip that I recorded directly through my interface into Reaper, there are no effects added, and there was NO bass on the original backing track, so you are actually hearing the bass that is up for sale. You are welcome to come and try it out at my home in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. More info can be found here: https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2016/06/07/fender-unveils-limited-edition-american-standard-pj-bass/
  18. That reminds me, I should have stated in the ad that the original pickguard is black (which will be included in the sale), I had this tort pickguard custom made using the original one as a template
  19. Yes it is, and yes, it really is lovely, but it's too good for me. I have too many basses and have now decided to just stick to two, which is all I need to play on the local circuit. 😉
  20. Lakland USA Bob Glaub Custom PJ Bass After going on a spending spree during lock-down, I have now decided to completely trim my basses down to just two, main bass, and back-up bass, so this stunning example which I purchased on this marketplace during lock-down, has to go. It is in absolutely mint condition and comes with the original Lakland hardcase. It has a quarter-sawn Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard, birds-eye maple position markers, and It has a 38mm Jazz width nut. It truly sounds, and plays amazing, I've included a YouTube video of me attempting to play Smooth Operator with my arthritic fingers on the bass, so please go easy on me, lol. It's going straight through my interface into Reaper with no effects added. The bass on the original audio has NO bass, so you are actually hearing the Lakland bass. You are welcome to come and try it out at my home in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. Edit: It originally came with a black scratchplate which I still have and will be included in the sale, I had the tort scratchplate made using the original one as a template. Weight: 8lb 6oz.
  21. I loved the song and it always went down well when we played it live
