You are so right, the frontman in our "Feelgood" band definitely has a larger than life personality, whenever people start videoing us on their phones, he closes in on them and sings straight into the lens, he wanders around with his wireless mic, sometimes goes behind the bar or even out in the street. I currently play in a band that plays Dr Feelgood material, we don't go out as a tribute band, but we do nail the sound and our frontman is Lee to a tee! Unfortunately for us, although good for him , he has met a woman and is moving about 250 miles away, he has agreed to do a few gigs every now and then with us and is prepared to travel, for them. Because we will only gig around six times a year, I am putting a new band together with the drummer and a guitarist from one of my previous bands, we are all experienced musician's with a ton of songs we all know well and could be up and running almost immediately, but despite having ads on Join My Band and BandMix etc for a few months now, we are having no joy at all, so how do you guys go about finding a good frontman?

I used to put CS 62's in all my builds but decided to try these in my last build because the specs were the same. They sounded EXACTLY the same to my ears and at less than half the price of CS 62's, they are an absolute steal imo 😉

To me, this sounds more likely.

Why do most bass strings have silk wraps, and why? Personally, I can't stand them but luckily for me I use D'Addario Nickels which don't have wraps, but on one of my basses I put Ernie Ball Flats on and they have a sickly purple wrap which I hate, although they do sound good. I find that after a while they start fraying and particles get everywhere especially at the bridge end. Is it just me that hates silk wrap on strings? 🤔

Nope! Had it with guitarists and drummers too, don't know about bassists though because I've never had the need to advertise for one. Speaking for myself, if I respond to an ad and the person replies with more info, I always rely back asap, even if it's not for me, that way, they can cross me off the list and move on.

I've just about had my fill with JoinMyBand, we have an ad on for a singer at the moment, FOUR replies almost immediately, I reply to them immediately, five days later, nothing back from them? Then this morning I receive another message. And this is the link in the message: I give up!!!

I do sort of like the roadworn look but only if its genuine, or at least if its done properly like the limelights which are pretty convincing

Thanks for all the advice, but I've gone for a Boss FV500H, I know some people have said that it is quite large, but apart from my Boss tuner which is plugged into the dedicated tuner socket on my amp, the volume pedal will be the only pedal I will use so its size shouldn't be a problem.

What is the difference between a "volume' and "expression" pedal, when I'm searching around online for volume pedals, expression pedals often comes up?

I'm happy to pay up to £100 for a decent one

I'm after a volume pedal that is simple to use and doesn't affect the tone, and it would be useful if it it allows you to set a minimum level. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
