  1. I don't think its the amp Ped, I play through a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 when gigging, and when rehearsing I use whatever amp is in the room, and it also happens through my Mark Bass 60w practise amp at home, so I guess it probably is my technique, although I really don't think I am hitting the E any harder than any other string tbh πŸ€”
  2. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I play P basses and its the same with all of them, I have adjusted the pickup heights and tried lowering them more on the E string side as most people do with P basses, but I still seem to have the problem, I try to hit the E a little lighter but when you are getting into a song, its not always easy to do πŸ˜•
  3. I notice a definite jump in volume and tone when I go from the E string to the A string, its especially noticeably when dropping down from the A to the E. I know absolutely nothing about compressors, but would one help even out the the volume and tone? Whenever I read threads on compressors I get very confused, everyone has different opinions on what they do and whether they are needed or not. If a compressor will help, then I want one that is simple to use (not too many dials etc), cost isn't a problem if it will do the job. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  4. My new band that plays old school r&b (think Dr Feelgood) and have 18 songs in the first set, and 19 songs in the second set, mind you, some are as short as 1.45 seconds but its great fun playing these no-nonsense, in-yer-face, pub rock songs πŸ˜ƒ
  5. ChunkyMunky, you are a star!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this video for me, it was really bugging me because it should have been so simple to work out, which I suppose it is really, but I just had a mental block on this.πŸ€” Once again, many thanks.πŸ™‚
  6. Thanks, I will try that out later
  7. So it IS a "pink torpedo up" at the beginning then? I thought it might be, because for the rest of the song, what I play sounds fine πŸ™‚
  8. One Weekend - Dr Feelgood For the life of me I just can't work out what notes are being played in the intro, my ears tell me its G E C D GGCBG D but when I play along with the song, it just doesn't sound right. πŸ˜• I've just formed a new Dr Feelgood tribute band and have learn't 37 songs in just a few weeks without any problems except for the intro on this one. One Weekend - Dr Feelgood(intro).mp3
  9. I was just about to state the obvious about the neck dive on these things but you have already made your mind up. I had a Gibson Thunderbird a couple of years ago, it sounded great, looked great, and I really wanted to keep it, but the neck dive was horrendous so it had to go πŸ˜•
  10. Well after going missing for 18 days since being collected from my house on 2ndMarch, I get an email from P2Go this morning saying that they had located the parcel, and that it is on its way to the buyer of my Sadowsky Preamp. As I had already refunded the buyer, I contacted P2Go via the online β€œlive help” to ask them to cancel the delivery because I had already refunded the buyer in full. Anyway, not long afterwards the buyer contacted me to say that he has received and would pay me the money, which he did in due course. So to sum up, whilst this has all been very inconvenient for the buyer and myself, at least they did manage to find it in the end and everyone is happy. Although I am losing confidence in courier companies the more I use them. Btw, the buyer is a fellow BC'er and the communication between us has been great.πŸ˜‹
  11. Personally, I think Β£159 for a brand new beautifully finished body is an absolute steal, its nice to start off with a really nice body imo, because it inspires you to get the best parts you can afford within your budget and go on to create a really nice build. Here's my sunburst "bitsa" which has a lovely Mighty Mite Jazz neck fitted, it plays better than my 2016 Fender American Standard and sounds every bit as good for a fraction of the cost. πŸ˜‹
  12. I can recommend the bodies that Northwest Guitars sell, they are fully finished for just Β£159, I have had a sunburst and an olympic white one and the quality of the finish is fantastic.
  13. Here's his original sunburst I wonder how much this would be worth now?
  14. Sorry, I meant to say the one in the photo πŸ€”
  15. I think his P bass in the video was fiesta red
  16. Might just do that, cheers
  17. Whether he is one of the greats in terms of bass playing, I'm not really qualified to say, but I always admired his ability to play those melodic baselines and sing at the same time, something I always find hard to do. πŸ€”
  18. Does cites affect private sales from outside the EU?
  19. Thanks for the heads up but I really want to go 32" if possible
  20. You've made a good job of that, nice work! The type of material I'm playing now in my new band requires a lot playing high up, so making something similar could be a problem πŸ€”
  21. No probs, at least they are now investigating and have opened a case, albeit, via online helpline πŸ˜•
  22. Thanks, I did see that one, but I had one made a couple of year's ago by Maruszczyk, but I couldn't get on with the flattish board, although I believe Maruszczyk give you the option of 9 1/2" radius now
  23. Don't mind, but I think that even with used basses regardless of their age, they have to have a certificate to prove that they are in fact, pre cites. I'm worried that if I were to import one and it doesn't have the certificate, then it will end up being seized by customs and I could end up losing my money. πŸ€”
  24. Does anyone know where the best place is to look for a Medium Scale P or J Bass? There are a few in Japan and the USA, but apart from the import duties, I would have the cites certificate to contend with because I would prefer a rosewood board.
  25. Totally agree, it puts you off selling anything these days unless the buyer is reasonably close enough to collect or meet halfway.
