  1. GOTOH Pre CBS Vintage Relic Reverse Tuners £75 Posted!!! SOLD!!! I bought these for a “roadworn” precision project, but I actually bought a real Fender 50’s Road Worn last week, so these are now surplus to requirements. They are exactly the same tuners that are on the Fender 50’s Road Worn series and were purchased in the USA, they are very hard to find in the UK and cost silly money if do manage to find a supplier. I will ship them in the original box.
  2. Just had it confirmed by a Fender parts dealer, the locking pins do NOT line up, why discontinue the old ones and bring out newer ones that are not interchangeable? Looks like I'm going to have buy a set of completely different machines that hopefully will cover the two holes in the back of the headstock. Gutted!!! If only I could find a couple (or a set) somewhere.
  3. I worked for a small online company and the stock amount was always visible to the customer, the moment someone ordered and paid for an item, the stock reduced, and once the last one was sold, it displayed "out of stock".
  4. It happened to me in December, I payed £89.99 (inc postage) for a EMG Geezer Butler Precision Bass Pickup, got a confirmation email saying my order is now being processed, then I received a second email the following day saying it was out of stock, so I emailed back asking for a refund. They reimbursed me quite quickly, but it's a real pain when online companies don't show that something is not in stock on their sites.
  5. I've tried Schaller without success, thanks anyway.
  6. Unused Set of Hipshot HB6C Ultralite Bass Machine Heads 3/8" £40 Posted!!! SOLD!!! I bought these tuners some time ago for a project that I never got round to starting, they are brand new and fit headstocks with 14mm holes.
  7. I haven't, but I will now. Cheers
  8. I need two replacement machine heads for my P bass but after searching literally everywhere around the world for months, I just can't find any anywhere, they have been discontinued and replaced by the lightweight open gear type. My question is, does anyone know if the locking pins on the new ones are the same dimensions as the older ones? if so, I will buy a complete new set. The top two pics are the older ones and the bottom pic is of the newer ones. Any help would be much appreciated.
  9. PM'd and left a sticky note, are these still for sale?
  10. Very pleasant transaction and communication. Highly recommended BassChatter.
  11. I'm not anymore, we used to get on quite well until then, and he is quite a decent guy in lots of ways, but that was the final straw, I just couldn't take anymore of his massive ego so I quit a couple of day's ago.
  12. WITHDRAWN!!! Warwick Machine Heads Gold 1 Left & 1 Right £7 Posted!!!
  13. SOLD!!! Warwick Security Locks Gold Complete with Spare Strap Part £7 Posted!!! SOLD!!!
  14. Ibanez SR500 Bridge £8 Posted!!! SOLD!!! Some tarnishing but functions perfectly.
  15. Mostly through musician websites like JoinMyBand and BandMix.
  16. I have literally just left the band, I feel so much happier now and I will take my time looking for the right people with no ego's to play music with.
  17. Here's another example to illustrate bass players being the "poor relation in a band" In the band I play in, I’m normally stuck at the back behind one of the guitarists who is 6ft 5in, but at one gig recently, there just wasn’t enough room in the tiny little corner I was in, so I had the audacity to move to the other side of the stage into the only space available, which happened to be right in front of the other guitarist who was also well over 6ft, so he easily towered over me seeing as I'm only 5ft 8in, but he was not happy, afterwards he complained that I had cramped his style, especially when he was doing his solo's, when I questioned him about his ego, he just said, “no one in the audience wants to see or hear the boring bass player, they only want to see the guitarists doing their solo’s”, and he mean’t it.
  18. I went to a Jam Night that was run by a guitarist who had the biggest ego possible, he started the evening by doing all the Hendrix stuff on his own at very high volume and with loads of distortion, this went on for about 30/40 minutes before he started calling people up, and yes, they were mostly his mates, even though myself and others had got there long before they did, (there was no board to put your name down), and then he asked if he could borrow my bass, to which I reluctantly agreed, he then proceeded to play for another 20 minutes with said mates, and yes, he sounded like an over-egotistical guitarist trying to play bass, and probably believed that he did a better job on bass than myself and the other bass players there.
  19. Just wondering why there isn't a bump option when you list in "Items Wanted", once anything I've listed has dropped down a few pages, I have to create a completely new listing which surely clutters up the section. Is there a reason for not having a bump option?
  20. Why not just go down the simple route? get yourself a small practise amp such as a Roland Micro Cube. All you need to do is plug your mp3 source (mp3 player, phone, laptop, etc) into the aux-in, headphones into the headphone socket, and away you go, silent practise made easy, and if you do want to do away with the headphones occasionally, you have a great sounding little amp that won't annoy the neighbours.
