FINAL REDUCTION £45 POSTED!!!

I got this new a few year's ago as part of a bundle when I purchased SONAR 8 Producer, unfortunately, I never managed to work out how to use the software properly, so this hardly got used.

It is identical to the Edirol FA-66 which is currently on sale at Fair Deal Music for £315.99

    http://www.fairdealm...CFWYq0wodu5MNYA

Fender USA 60th Anniversary Precision Bass. Absolutely Fantastic Condition!

    £995 Posted!

    Sorry, No Trades Please!

If you have seen some of my other ads recently, then you will know that I am having a serious cull of my collection, mainly because of health issues, but also to try and raise some cash for recording equipment, and this is probably one of the hardest sales of the lot, I have had at least twenty precisions in the last few years and they've all been great instruments, but in my humble opinion, this one is probably the best of the lot!

I bought this from a fellow BassChatter about 18 month's ago, I believe virtually unused, and since then it has never left the house, obviously I've played it a few times at home because it is such a fantastic bass, but I've been frightened to take it to rehearsals or gigs because it is in such fantastic condition, so it really needs to go to someone who is going to use it.

I'm not going to say too much about this beauty because it's a P bass, you know what it does, and this one does it brilliantly! :)

Here are some pics to show you how nice it is.

Edited: to add pic of 60th Anniversary neck plate which I had somehow omitted.

Just fell asleep reading that spec  How do people find time to use it live?
I've seen them used by others, in fact a previous guitarist in our band had one and it really is a great bit of kit, but I'm far too long in the tooth to start getting my head around all the amazing things it does, which is why I just posted,

I saw this bass earlier today & it's in stunning condition. I would've said brand new at first glance never mind 41 years old! The sunburst is also a lot richer in the flesh than the photos suggest.
Brian's a top bloke. Honest, reputable seller. GLWTS!
Thanks for the kind words Rob, it was nice meeting you as well you today, and I hope you are enjoying the bass. :)

  8. Without wishing to get everyone feeling sorry for me, I would like to say that I was on the verge of packing up gigging due to my severe back problem, I've already started selling off some of my basses (three this week), because I know the day I have to quit is getting nearer, I'm on nineteen tablets a day plus liquid morphine every four hours, so I'm drugged up to the eyeballs, I've not been able to drive for some time now, so my wife had to drive me to the gig last night and she hates driving in the dark, but because I'm a dedicated and reliable person, I wanted to complete our remaining three gigs to the end of the year no matter what, I did not want to let the venue down so I carried on despite the pain, and this is how they treat you.

BTW, I said I was on the verge of quitting, I now have, I'm a bit old school when it comes to being reliable and courteous etc, but I've got to realise that there is no point in worrying about commitments, no one else seems to these days. :(

  9.
Could have been a good gig if it was full, they know how to party around there! Lol.
The four people who were in there seemed to be enjoying it as they were singing along and tapping their hands on the table etc, and I think they must have asked the assistant manager why we finished after the first set, because I overheard him saying to them that he couldn't afford to pay us because there wasn't enough punters in.

  10.
I know that pub, that was quite a trek for that type of gig, who booked it in the first place?
I did, we are a newish band trying to get onto the local circuit, so I sent out loads of emails direct or via their Facebook pages to pubs that have bands, obviously you don't know whether the pubs are going to be dedicated music pubs, or just have the occasional band until you actually get there, as it turned out, it's not the type of place we would want to play at if we had known what it was like in the first place, nice big stage though.

  11.
Like another earlier post I use the Presonus monitors and find them really good for the price. I have the Eris E8 as they replaced a Roland system that employed a sub. I tried the E5s and was concerned that they also sounds like a sub was required. They were OK without but somehow I felt I would always have a nagging doubt. The E8s were, at the time, just too expensive as my budget was similar to yours. However, keep your eyes open for a deal as I got mine from Source (the UK distributors) as an ex-demo pair and paid £225 including shipping. The E8s are full range and definitely do not require bass reinforcement. I also use mine with Nord keyboards and they are very smooth and responsive across the whole range.
Thanks for the advice, I will keep a look out.

I think a call to the landlady on Monday to make sure that she agreed this with her manager and he hasn't just pocketed your cash.

    Then play it by ear.

    Pub gigs eh.
She was there when we arrived and I introduced myself to her, it was obvious she had already had a few drinks, but she was fine and didn't say anything at the time, but later on when we were sound checking, I did notice her having words with the manager a few times and looking over at us, so maybe they were talking about paying us off early.

The pub is a tied pub by one of the brewery giants, and I know their pubs have a budget for entertainment because I know a few managers of these pubs personally, the chances are, the books will show they had a band on last night, and the fee which is agreed by the brewery would have been paid in full.
Thanks, my 2.5 reading glasses just weren't up to the task!

  14. Just got home early from our gig tonight and I'm not a happy bunny!

Our gig tonight was a two hour round trip for three of us, and a three hour round trip for our vocalist, but while we were setting up, the assistant manager said that because it's the landladies' hen night, the pub is not going to be very busy because she will be taking a lot of the regular customers with her, and that they weren't expecting many in.

Because of this, he said he wont be taking much money so can we just play the first set and he will pay us half the fee, I replied that we have travelled a long way and would rather fulfil the agreement.

He wasn't very happy, but we started anyway, and by the end of the first set we were playing to four people, the others in the band wanted to call it a day because they feared he would not pay the full fee even if we carry on, so I said, "the fact that there aren't many punters in tonight is not our fault, and we are a semi-professional band who entered into an agreement with the venue to play two sets for an agreed fee", but they still worried we wouldn't get payed the full amount so insisted on packing up early and accept half the fee.

What annoys me even more is the fact that the landlady phoned me Monday morning to discuss arrival and setting up time, and she must have known then that there is a possibility of the pub being empty because of her hen night, so she could have suggested cancelling the gig and re-booking us for a later date, and although we would have been disappointed, at least we wouldn't have wasted our time.

Personally I feel a bit let down by my bandmates for not backing me, and for making it too easy for the venue to mug us off, I feel we should all have stood our ground and demanded we get payed what was agreed.

So am I entitled to be annoyed, or should I just accept that these things happen. :(

What would you have done in this situation?

    Sorry, No Trades.

Ok, I know I must be mad, but I’m selling this bass even though I love it to bits, mainly because I think my gigging days are coming to an end due to severe back problems that are not getting any better. This is the fourth bass I’ve put up for sale in a couple of days in a bid to raise some funds for recording gear, and hopefully to take the missus on a nice winter holiday.

It’s only about eleven weeks old so it’s in absolutely “as new” condition, I’ve gigged it three times and it was amazing, and being medium scale, it is so much easier to play, and there is definitely no difference at all soundwise.

It’s strung with La Bella flats, but a set of medium scale rounds will be included in the sale as well.

It cost me £1,097.75 just a few weeks ago, and I’m letting it go now for just £750 posted in the gig bag and original box I received it in.

So if like many on here, you fancy one of these great basses but you are put off by the waiting time, this could be yours in just a few days for a bargain price.

1975 Precision Bass in Absolutely Exceptional Condition.

    £1995 Posted!

    Please, No Trades.

I purchased this fantastic bass from GaryMac last year and I would love to hold on to it, but I have decided to thin out my collection so I can raise some cash to buy recording gear for my new hobby, which I'm getting into due to having to cut down gigging because of severe back problems.

It's in exceptional condition for a 41 year old bass, virtually unmarked paintwork with just a few blemishes and tiny marks here and there.
The hardware and fittings are also in great condition.

Only weighs 9lb so certainly not a back breaker.

All original other than a replacement switchcraft input socket and a CTS 250 volume pot, the originals will be supplied as part of the sale.

Not much else I can add really, other than to say it sounds just like a great vintage precision should, and plays very nice too.

If you live nearby, or you happen to be in the Bridgnorth area, you are more than welcome to come and try it out, I’m retired now so I can be at home anytime to suit you.

1971 Fender Precision bass with an (A) Jazz neck, quite rare for the era.

    £1,995 Posted!

This is a 1971 Fender Precision bass all original as far as I know, I have put on a period correct scratch plate because the original one is a bit warped due to age, and the end part by the input has broken off which was quite common, this will of course be included in the sale as well as the rather battered original case.

This really is a well used bass and shows all the scars to prove it, the paint is very brittle and can chip off if you catch your fingers on it, but it does look nice though and it really is a talking point whenever I gig it.

It is one of the rare precisions of this era where they occasionally produced them with a Jazz neck (A neck), usually to order I believe.

It sounds like a 1971 Fender Precision, I think that’s all I need to say regarding tone etc, it plays nice and the Jazz neck’s narrower nut width makes it feel just right for me.

If you live nearby, or you happen to be in the Bridgnorth area, you are more than welcome to come and try it out, I’m retired now so can I be at home anytime to suit you.

Out of curiosity I entered the serial number into the Guitar Data Project and this was the result.

Edited: to add a couple of pics of the neck which I just took alongside my Jazz (1971 bass is on the left).
The frets are very nicely finished as you can see in the second pic.

  18. Without wishing to hijack the thread, can I ask how they balance?

I had a beautiful TB a few months ago, I loved the sound and the neck felt good as well, but oh dear, massive neck dive and just so uncomfortable to play on the strap, so do these sound more or less the same, and do they hang well?

Once again, sorry to go a bit off topic.
