  1. Anybody had any experience with these guitars, & if so, what were your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  2. These top quality stands individually cost about £130 EACH new. Plus another £50 for the bag & clips is £310 in total. Having had minimal use these are virtually in new condition, so surely a bargain at two thirds new price? 🙂
  3. A bathroom scales reading reports a comfortable 8.5lbs.
  4. New to me, but a 2011 model. A ‘Ball Family Reserve’ instrument, limited production run. I’ve asked about the actual production numbers, but they are not known. Most Stingrays are 4H, so I’d imagine this is a pretty rare beast in this specification. There is a very subtle copper sparkle in the paint. Invisible in daylight, & just about visible under lights, but that’s where the ‘Black Sugar’ name comes from. Rare for me to want a painted body over exotic wood, but the gorgeous roasted maple neck ticks that box. It was the sound that made me want it anyway - as soon as I played it plugged in, I knew it was coming home with me!!
  5. Some more pictures of this awesome instrument.
  6. It is indeed a stunner. Nut width is just a smidge more at 40mm Other specs:- Weight according to my bathroom scales is 9lbs Underneath the exotic top, the body is alder Pickups are Delano JC4AL Pre amp is a two band Glockenklang Passive option via volume control - pull up
  7. Excellent quality speaker stands. Only been used for a couple of rehearsals, so virtually like new. Winding mechanising which makes set up easier. Steel tubing. Larger than average stands probably better suited to bigger indoor, or outdoor venues. Check the label picture for full specs & size. 50kg/110lbs weight limit per stand. Comes with quality carry bag, & two packs of new cable clips. £195 No postage due to weight. Collect from Swindon or meet a short distance away..
  8. Gorgeous looking Jazz bass which I’m only moving on as I’m playing a lot less these days so don’t need so many basses. I’ve had this bass since new - bought direct from Adrian. In excellent condition - only light surface scratches. Lovely playable neck which is more a C profile even though on a Jazz body. Delano pickups & 2 band preamp. Comes with the more robust Maruszczyk branded GBBS nylon gigbag, & a Maruszczyk leather strap. Has Schaller straplocks fitted. Plays supremely well & sounds sweet as you like. No postage. Collection or will meet up to an hour away from Swindon (which actually is quite a decent amount of distance away!)
  9. Superb, powerful, lightweight bass amp Fully working & in great condition 550 Watts (@ 4 ohms) 4 band EQ Built in tuner Aux in / headphone jack / speaker free operation makes it a very convenient home rehearsal tool too. Built in effects Comes with foot pedal & cable + gigbag Collection from Swindon preferred. Postage at additional cost to be agreed.
  10. So the main input gain level controls on my PA mixer have a scale of 0db to minus 50db. When turning the control clockwise therefore increasing the minus db, the sound through the speakers gets louder. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation why increasing the minus db level increases the sound output, but I don’t get it. Anyone able to explain? The mixer is an RCF Many thanks.
  11. So what I was looking to buy has now unfortunately been sold. I only really need one 5 string, so happy to also consider trades for a 4 string with me trading up. Have got some cash to add in to a possible deal. I’d only be interested in active basses though, & I don’t like posting instruments so we’d have to meet up to exchange. Saying that, from Swindon an hours travel in any direction gets me quite far!
  12. Don’t want to miss out on what I’ve got my eye on, so price drop to what’s got to be bargain territory now?
  13. In action with this bass at a festival last summer. Thunderous & looked the bollox! The current new equivalent of these basses are circa £1400 - £1500 now.…
  14. Ok to post this for sale link here? Seems potentially pertinent to anyone following this thread. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/488936-ibanez-btb-1905-premium-5-string/
  15. I was only looking to sell this as something else had caught my eye, & I would need to generate some funds to go towards purchasing that. Feel free to pm me with what you were thinking of though.
  16. Stunning high spec active 5 string bass. Apart from a small ding in the lower body, virtually mint. Comes with a fitted Ibanez case. Aguilar DCB pickups Ibanez custom 9v electronics 3-band EQ and 3-way mid frequency switch Neck-through construction Zero fret Neutrik locking output jack MR5 monorail bridge Gotoh GB707 machineheads Neck 9-Piece Panga Panga/Purpleheart/Maple Graphite Reinforcement Rods Fingerboard Material Bound Panga Panga Fingerboard Inlay Abalone Side Dot 24 Medium Stainless Steel with Premium Fret Edge Treatment 19mm string spacing 35” scale Schaller strap locks Plays superbly, & a nice quiet preamp you can pretty much get any sound from. Collection from Swindon or will meet up to an hour away (no postage)
  17. Apart from my fretless (talent shortfall 😆), I rotate all my others for gigs. Regarding insurance, I’ve specified my Spector & Maruszczyk individually on my home contents policy due to their new replacement costs. I should probably think about doing the same with the Ibby’s because they’re not too much different now…. 🤔. I like to use all my basses live - that’s what I bought them for.
  18. This used to be mine - traded it to Bass Direct when I needed to free up some cash for another 5 string. Apart from it being a fretless, I still have its ‘twin’’. This bass certainly both played & sounded awesome when I had it. Priced about right I’d say - GLWTS!
  19. Oddly no. I’ve played all sorts over the years. If the band output sounds good, then I enjoy whatever it is I’m playing. Have played many a song which otherwise I wouldn’t have ever even listened to. Can’t explain it really. Weird 😆.
  20. Withdrawn. Have decided to keep it 🙂.
