I’m not sure that’s any easy comparison to make. Why? Well I’ve got Nords in the 1805 & the 2600 but the basses have a different tone even with same pups in. The 2600 is quite a bright sounding bass, & the 1805 sounds deeper & smoother. They do have different pre-amps though. Initially the 2405 actually sounds somewhere in between. At some point soon I’ll have a more in depth listen to all three on the same settings.

Stunning bass in virtually as new condition & amazing spec. A huge amount of bass for the money. Plays beautifully & sounds immense. Comes with an Ibanez gigbag. Walnut and Mahogany body Rosewood and Flamed Maple top 5-piece Wenge and Bubinga neck with KTS titanium rods Rosewood fingerboard with oval Abalone inlays 24 medium frets with Premium fret edge treatment Nordstrand Big Single pickups EQB-IIISC 3-band EQ with EQ bypass and mid-frequency select switch Mono-rail V bridge Black TUSQ XL nut Gotoh Sealed tuners Gold hardware 16.5mm string spacing Schaller S-lock strap locks fitted. No trades (except an SRF700 + cash my way) as I am selling this to pay for another recently acquired SR. No delivery. Collection from Swindon or meet say up to an hour away from here.

Thanks Bas & yes it was. Tempted by the swap idea, but alas I need to generate funds to balance the books on the new acquisition sadly. First impressions are excellent, but that’s really all I can say after less than a days ownership! 😆

Bas, I will now have to admit to a perseverance fail!! Temptation was thrown at me in the guise of a used SR2405W (with 18mm spacing) & I succumbed to GAS!! The 1805 below will now have to be sold to pay for it!

What I’ve been doing when rehearsing is giving each bass a similar amount of playing time. Or even alternating on songs with my two fivers. Eventually hoping a kind of muscle memory thing will kick in. I really want to hold on to my 1805!

Rush have been my favourite band for over 35 years. Dreadful news. Gutted & speechless. 😢

I’m in the same dilemma. Three of my basses have 19mm string spacing whilst my 1805 has 16.5mm. Makes the 1805 a little harder for me to play when I initially pick it up, especially for my plucking hand. As these EHB’s have 18mm (+ they look fantastic imo), that might be more comfortable as would be an SR2405. The dilemma being my 1805 is such a great bass in all other ways, I’m a little reluctant to part with it.... Perseverance might be in order first!!

I bought my 2600 from Andertons which is where the OP is looking to purchase from. It was also a great New Years price & I assumed the case was included, but it wasn’t..... Fortunately managed to source one on here afterwards which was lucky.

Do exactly that if it is possible. Check the 1820 price also includes the case too.

I’ve done a couple of after meeting gigs at Newbury Racecourse this year. Literally employed to play for two hours after the last race. Pics below as they’ve got my SR’s in which is kind of topical to this thread!

One of two - a break in the middle.

^^This has caught me out a couple of times on a dark stage. I’ve found even after a full charge the luminays only last 20-25 mins - not ideal in a 45 - 60 minute set. Not always easy to re-charge mid-set either. Just make sure now that if need be I’ve got good light where I’m stood. Still love the 2600 though!

I’ve become a huge fan of the Ibanez Premium range this year, starting with the 2600 bought last January. Acquired both the 5 strings during the year, the BTB only last week. Fantastic spec, love the aesthetics, any tone I want & superb playability. I’m even toying with the idea of moving the Maruszczyk on for another Ibby Premium. I’ve not tried a Prestige, but have considered them when I’ve seen them up for sale used. My conclusion has been, for a significant bigger outlay vs the Premiums, I’m not convinced I’ll be gaining much if anything at all.... The Nords or Aguilars are at least equal to the Barts & the other spec varies little. Is the difference in cost just the intangible country of production? I believe @Woodinblack might have both? If so, he will have good insight.

Took the 1805 to a new band rehearsal last night. Played it through just the BH550 & Super Compact. Got some very favourable comments about the sound. I said wait until you hear it through both cabs & the Magellan! Nice to get some positive sound feedback though.
-
I love the sound & playability, so find myself picking up my Ibby’s more. I’m very much hoping another will sound & play the same. I like the various aesthetics too, so that would be a difference, plus I’ll have the option of taking out very similar back ups. I like the look of the poplar faced 1605 or perhaps the Aguilar equipped 2405 (not put off by the above vid)

To be fair you’re right, that does not sound too good. Especially the note played at 11 seconds in. Sounds a very nasal, high mid, back pick up tone set up to me, which doesn’t help the B. Mine sounds nothing like that. Possibly a difference the EQ & whatever the backline is? Wonder if it might be a difference in the Aguilar pups on that vs the Nords on mine?

Bitten the bullet - Maruszczyk now in the for sale section, with a single trade option for an SR Premium....

Not my experience regarding the B string on my 1805. It feels ‘right’ & sounds focused.

Bought this off @bubinga5 here nearly three years ago. Lovely Bass & has been a joy to own. Has a Delano 2 band pre amp installed I changed the pickups to Delano JMVC 5 FE’s purchased new from Bass Direct (£200) Usual trademark extremely playable Maruszczyk neck The pickguard is a perfectly fitting SiMs Custom Shop replacement (the original was too scuffed for me) Has the latest version Schaller strap locks fitted Comes with a Maruszczyk burgundy leather strap Also comes with a Maruszczyk GBBS case (€90 when new) which is a tough, reinforced ‘soft’ case.

I got my 1805 but was concerned about the same thing. That has 16.5mm spacing vs 19mm on all my other basses. It was so good though, I have persevered with it & now got used to the different spacing.
