That bass is lovely!

Here's hopefully a bit of fun for everyone. I am designing a new single cut bass, 6 string, short scale, after I had designed the body shape I couldn't shake the thought of "Haven't I seen this before?" So I grabbed some images of other 6 string single cuts, cut them out, turned them black and lined them up... leads to the question, if you follow basic design principals and design your shape with care do you end up looking like everyone else? So looking at the image below can people guess the bass builder? One of them is mine mixed with 5 other brands. I'll put the results on when there's been a few guesses Have fun

Out of interest how long did the GW parcel take to get to you and did you get any additional UPS charges upon delivery? My own parcel from GW shipped on the 9th and was held up between Portugal and Spain and then another much longer delay getting it in to the UK, where it's currently down south unmoved. It's totally understandable with the times we live in so I don't mind the wait, like you I have some templates and treated myself to their fret arbor press !! I love this build though, such a brilliant design.

This Wyn example really bugs me, I remember raising the point on the video that he should have at least have had all the samples the same thickness and size, as you say of course they're all going to sound different!! Some are practically veneers!

Thanks for that! Yeah I've never played it "classical" style but sitting on a knee in "normal' position it's fine and I'm doing the same on my new build currently, I love that it's clean and tidy round the back!

Thank you mate. The new build is coming along really nicely, don't want to jinx it just yet, but the body is almost all done and I'll be looking to cut and shape the neck this week, so depending on how well that comes out I'll get something posted up

Hey! No not on this bass... I am however working on a new bass design and new build, it has no diary just yet, but I will post something at some point, I just didn't want to put energy in a diary that ended up like this one i'm very bad for changing my mind all the time, this one might be finished at a later date, but the new build is going very nicely so far! fingers crossed!
