My first bass bash :-) I'll drop the wife and daughter off at the Metro Centre and come over, looking forward to it! Graeme - Scotland
You're going to subject your wife and daughter to 5 Hours in the Metro Centre?! You Cruel Cruel Man
4.
Silddx and his Warwick fretless looking very retro I thought..
Awesome looking Warwick you got there Silddx! you got a gear porn section on that bass?! if not why not?! I want more!
5. Bought a Markbass Little Mark bass head from Lee, earlier this year, Fantastic product, fast delivery, great communications! and another trust worth geordie! an absolute pleasure! Cheers Lee.
6. Bought Gary William's Warwick Thumb '89 NT bass about a month ago now! Fantastic guy let me come to his home to try the bass and get a feel for it, got personal collection and drop off from the local train station to boot! What a guy! Great communication even after the sale, genuine guy, great player, buy or sell with absolute confidence. Cheers mate!
7. Now if you'd have told me it would've made me play like Marcus then i'd be all over it..... but right now i don't feel like being 7 foot tall and black.
8. Beautiful collection there Lee mate! I really hope the Ken Smith was worth the Warwick swap?! *crazy man* And i can't believe i'm having to look at another gorgeous white jazz with a tort pickguard!! Nightmare!! GAS much?
9. I get a very similar sound to Dirk's tone from my Stage II , its a very mid range bass with a huge amount of growl when you dig which Dirk does alot, just watch Live in Chicago to see that! Nothing a little compression isn't going to help amplify either! I love his tone on that album and in general! big inspiration.
10. man i'm such a sucker for White Jazz Basses with Tort Pickguards.... that is beautiful!!
11. Wow 40 Years of playing bass?! *only got 33 Years to go!* What a fantastic collection of amazing basses too! A big welcome to the forum from me!
12. Just bought a Double Ritter Bass Bag from Lee, Fantastic guy, next day postage, fantastic bag, what more could you want! Pleasure to deal with another Geordie! "Well On Wor Kid" Thanks!
13. Hey Guys, It seems after buying and selling quite a lot of gear on here, it was about time i got on the feedback bandwagon! So read on...
14.
Argh, been looking for one of these but that's just not my colour! Good luck with the sale.
Likewise - The only thing keeping my trigger finger steady. I like my Wick's Naked.
15. The only problem i have with my finger technique and the one finger per fret rule is, i'm not smooth returning on Notes, so the whole 1,2,3,4 is fine, but when returning back 4,3,2,1 i find my third finger still isn't developed enough going backwards on runs at any speed over 90bpm and it really slows me down, its quite frustrating! But still practice makes perfect and its something to work! And i totally agree with both of Bilbo's posts! very relevant!
16. All those basses and not a single Warwick?!
17.
Nice! Any news anyone ? Remember its only 10 months since they demo'd them at NAMM...... rotflmao
+1 for the interest in the Synth Pedal! sounds awesome!
18. I can't do distortion, i have tried, but i love the unflavoured bass tone too much and don't like to dirty it, i do however get a fantastic bite from my Streamer Stage II and Markbass though when i dig in and thats usually enough for me! I'd rather let the guitars in my band do the shouting.
19. Very interesting looking bass i'll give you that! Good luck with the auction!
20. In my experience "Backline" means Cabinets and Drums only, I and my band always take our own Amp Heads and the drummer takes his own snare*s* and cymbals, the last two gigs we have played the other two bands just used our gear as it "made things easier" nothing to do with the fact that we rolled up with a vox stack, orange stack, and my Hartke and Markbass stack and the headlining band who were providing backline brought Marshall Practice amps.... I personally hate when a band just assumes they can use my gear and don't bring anything to the gig, what were they planning to do if i didn't bring anything? I get Especially riled up when a headlining band bring nothing to the show, thats the real joke.
21. When i had a bass shipped over here from the states, it was marked up as a gift, but i still had to pay £89.00 in Import Tax and Fee's, your guy sounds legit, it also sounds like he's going to great lengths providing you with additional photos and a recording! so i would like to think you had nothing to worry about when buying from him, as someone else said above me its built up on trust really, take the plunge if you're 100% sure. Best of luck.
22. £700 for a streamer LX? ouch!! Overpaid much!?
23. Haha legend! I'm diggin' the Nike kicks in his ebay profile photo!
24.
I have both volumes of the Jamiroquai transcription books and I must say they are asbolutely superb. Fantastic work by Simon (who is also a member here). Highly recommended.
Absolutely agree the transcriptions are flawless, thankfully now i have an ear to learn the songs myself, but back in '04 the book really really helped me out..... Can't say i'm getting very far with learning the Jaco ones though, they are Tough!
