  1. This would be a guitar from the 80s from the US. Should be fine - Need clear info on the receipt for customs purpose regarding the date - Not sure how you can specify which ebony though just by looking and like many builders they might have used different sources - Gibson use to use Ceylon/Si Lanka but don't recall when this changed UK DEFRA contact for CITES if required Tel: +44 (0) 3000 200 301 Fax: +44 (0) 28 415 2510 Email: [email protected]
  2. Wasn’t there some talk about how much of ‘Live and Dangerous’ was actually live? Seem to remember claims from some people involved with it at the time about the amount of overdubs etc. The Who story about ‘Live at Leeds’ nearly being ‘Live at Hull’ surfaced a few years ago too. Apparently the band preferred the sound of the Hull gig ( the night after the Leeds one) but there were problems with parts of the bass recordings dropping out so they went with the Leeds gig instead. When they released the Hull gig 40 odd years later they used the Leeds bass recordings on some of the songs to fix this.
  3. For the princely sum of £24.99 I can recommend the Fender ABY pedal Stew. Silent switching, works fine for me. A or B and A+B options.
  4. Here you go - my Jazz (bitsa) and my 63 Precision in the gear4music foam case. Must admit the slightly offset shape of the jazz means it's a tighter fit than the P-bass, but both well protected and snug! Hope this helps, cheers.
  5. These look great. Very similar to the gear4music one I mentioned above, and even slightly cheaper! The OP can't go wrong with any of these I'm sure.
  6. I bet a few people are waiting for me to recommend these, and I hate to disappoint! https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Bass-Guitar-Foam-Case-by-Gear4music/C87 Honestly one of the best things I've bought in years - in fact I bought one as a spare in case the first ever gives up the ghost. This is looking extremely unlikely at the moment, probably 6 or 7 years down the line. Used it on every gig I've done with my main band, so at least 500 gigs in and out of our vehicle. Still looks virtually new, and has protected my bass perfectly. Lighter than a standard case, tons more protection than most gig bags, shaped so not overly large and dead easy to use. Quite a few mates have seen mine and got one, everyone commenting how good they are. Best thing is the price - £39.99. You really can't go wrong. A few other companies do ones not a million miles away (SKB, Gator?) but they tend not to be shaped and therefore not as user friendly IMO. And cost a fair bit more too....🤨 (just to add that my 4 string jazz fits in one of these, so although I can't guarantee your 5 er will, there is a fair bit of space around the headstock on mine so chances are it should.)
  7. Anybody caught anything good on this channel yet? I watched a bit of The Stones 2013 Hyde Park gig, followed by a Madness documentary the other night. And yes, Andre Rieu was also on yesterday ...... 😆. In case you can’t find it on Freeview, it’s Channel 11. May have to retune to get it.
