Agree with you Pete. I was in a well known function band for nearly 20 years, and the golden period for us was mid 90’s to around 2006. After that we started getting fewer gigs, and the bands in the same market around here ( Yorkshire and the North) suffered the same. Not only that, but fees either stayed the same or even dropped, causing the band to eventually call it a day ( after I left in 2010 ). I understand there is still work out there now, but not the same as before, with a DJ often being the only music provided instead of live bands.

Fender Rumble combos are excellent, the V.3 range. Good tonal range, loud and very portable/light. Just watched this - found it riveting. One of those players who you can pick out straight away, incredible. A lot of his output isn't the sort of music I'm usually drawn to, but still found it fascinating.

Cracking gig last night at The Mechanics in Burnley. Audience well up for it from the off, good sounding room and despite a few minor errors we actually played okay. Last but one gig of our current run, so hope tonight in Harrogate is as good!

Similar sort of thing with their guitar players. When Mr Sambora was having a hard time keeping it going, they got in Bobby Bandiera to help cover his parts. Bobby is a wonderful player, but his age / image may not have fitted the band so they stuck him out of the way on stage. To be fair, JBJovi is a long standing friend of Bobby’s and helped him out by getting him the gig, just seemed a little unfair to hide him away.

Years ago I managed to get tickets to see Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, in a lower tier box. Eric came on to do some acoustic stuff as an opener, but the corporate do in the next box along almost drowned him out. I asked them to keep it down, and am sure most of them didn't even know who EC was and realise he was performing then.

Whilst this probably goes on, I don't think the Fender strings pictured by the OP are fake, just updated spec and packaging. I heard (I think on here) that Elixirs are the most chosen brand to knock off, presumably due to their higher r.r.p. & hence more profit for the fakers.

I've experimented (in a very unscientific way) with having my GK Neo 410 both directly on the stage and also leaving it in the base of it's flight case i.e. on castors. Don't know if it's because I've had years of doing it but I always prefer the sound of it not on wheels. Of course , different stages can affect this massively, but I do like that resonance for some reason. Auralex & other isolation products / cabinet stands etc do have a lot of love on here though, so I may be in the minority on this one?

Been buying Fender strings for over a year now. They have all been the same as yours in the pic, and came from an authorized dealer. Fender have rejigged the packaging recently, that's all. They used this packaging prior to yours, far as I know the strings haven't changed for a while now.

Great drummer, and not a bad singer too - remember seeing him with Paul McCartney doing some nifty BV's.

This ^^^ Just don't get why they waste their money to be honest. Just like the same people videoing it on their phones, I reckon a lot of people just go to gigs to say (and brag) they've been rather than enjoy the moment / event. There's definitely a new generation of people who can't concentrate on anything for very long, or stand not using their phones for more than a few minutes.
