Think it was down to the postioning of the upper strap button which caused the neck to sit a bit further away than I would have liked, resulting in a few one & sometimes 2 frets out moments! Seem to remember a bracket for the strap that Steinberger used on their models which eliminated this, so guess it must have been a common problem.

In my younger days it was always a trip to a local Indian restaurant, probably spending most of my earnings from the gig. Then I went through a pizza phase. And now? Bug*er all, as I find in my advancing years that if I eat anything substantial late at night I will suffer a food hangover next day. Great getting old ain't it.....

Believe the earlier ones (Mk111?) didn't have the DDT Peavey limiter thing, and was a great amp. However, I later got the updated Mk1V which did have it, and it seemed to kill the spirit of the thing. Got my amp tech guy to disable it and voila! Opened up the whole performance of the amp.

Not that much help, but had a GK Neo 410 for a few years now and no problems with the speakers. Someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly I'm sure.

Love a good cheap bass. There's something great about it not costing the earth that makes it so enjoyable for me. My Dano Longhorn is just that, wouldn't part with it. Also got a P-bass replica which is fantastic and probably didn't cost as much as the case it's kept in.

Yup, great viewing. All the bands were interesting, and agree about the winning two. Rhod Gilbert and Midge Ure both came across well I thought, very funny and genuine. Will be watching next episode with interest - Hooky from Joy Division, then the week after Jazzy B.

I put my Dano Longhorn in a guitar gigbag, fits perfectly. It is a 30.5" short scale bass though, with a fairly compact design.

As I stated on another thread, I'm reluctant to spend a fair wedge on a good class D amp, only to then apparently need to spend more dosh on a pedal in order to make the thing work properly. YMMV. -
Also handy when flight casing a cab. FWIW I prefer the sound of my 4x10 without the castors too.

Coda in Stevenage doesn't seem too far from you. I've been there many times, and always found the staff really friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the tiny shop front - they have vast stocks of everything a guitarist would want, including massive range of Custom Shop models from Fender and Gibson along with PRS, Ibanez etc etc. Also plenty of stuff in the lower / midrange price range, and some s/h stock too. I travel all over the UK and usually try to visit any music shops I can, and Coda is up there for me alongside Andertons, Guitar Guitar and GAK as one of the best.

Do it! I reckon it is a 'best of both' situation, works for me anyway. Although my P-bass Lyte came that way as standard, its not that difficult a job for a lot more tonal options, and does n't greatly detract from the original too much. A MIM P-bass would be an ideal basis for it too.

It seems that once the combos were made into separate amps/cabs, the amps lost their 'Dominator' status and got designated different names, such as 'Monitor reverb' etc. Is yours the later version like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wem-dominator-bass-25-/291742606859 Agree with comment #3 above too.
