1. SOLD to non BC person, pending payment. (1x15 cab still available though!) Cheers.
2. Fab bass playing - 70's Jazz through Ampeg SVT I believe, sounded fat and full even on my crappy TV.....
3.
great to see people talking about The Meters, I was lucky enough to see them supporting The Stones at Earls Court in 76. Soul Island is a great track that never seems to get a mention.
Me too! First time I encountered them - despite sound not being great in the cavernous Earls Court, they were groovy as f*ck!
4. I regularly use both 34" scale Fender and a 30" scale Danelectro, and don't have problems swapping between the two. Probably as they are such different instruments, so I can never forget which is which! I personally love the short scale Dano, its just ideal for the country/roots band I use it for. Not sure how it would be for the other stuff I play though, as it is quite 'thumpy'. Never tried a 32" scale, so would be interesting to see how that compromise would work.
5. +1 for Nad stuff. Still got my 3020 along with a C350 and they're belting amps for the money.
6. Thats because Leo Fender got it so right from the off - if it ain't broke don't fix it etc...........................
7. Great amp - think the weight is around 18lbs. Not overly heavy, you won't regret it!
8.
Definitely the Gallien 700 or 1001RB II I've gigged the Terror Bass, Shuttle 6.0 and Gallien MB500 (in combo format) and they all seem to be lacking something but for me the full size Gallien heads can't be beat. I think the main reason there hasn't been a great deal said about these models in this thread is that most of the people who use them are doing exactly that. They are solid, reliable and really difficult to get a bad sound from them.
+1 for GK RB series. Not that long ago these heads were considered small and lightweight (c.20lbs), which I believe for the sound you get they still are. (I'm getting on a bit and don't mind carrying them around!) Had a LM2 and just could n't get on with it. Don't think I'll ever go back to a micro head.
9. Just got my first Roqsolid cover for my GK Neo 410 cab. Great product at a fair price I believe - would deffo use them again. Cardboard/gaffa job ok as a temporary thing, but really not the answer IMO.
10.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! thats the third 8ohm 1x15 cab thats come up at the right price but is a 5-6 hour round trip for moi have a bump anyway mate
Cheers - loada cab for the dosh.
11.
I have one of these and don't think I could ever get rid of it even just as a back up! Fantastic sounding cabs at silly money when new and even more so second hand!
Cheers - think this may be going back into storage type bump................................
12.
In fact......... here's Jeff and Roy in The Move. How many of us want this in next weeks set ?? I do !!! I'm going to suggest it.
Great tune, one of my first early record purchases. Brill drum fill around 2.18 too!!!
13. Nice bass Dave. Good job you did nt have this with you last Thursday - would have been well tempted for another MM! Cheers,Pete.
14. Any interest / offers? This cab punches way above it's price!
15. Love my 63 Precision, keeper for life. My Stingrays probably too. Oh yeh, and my Dano Longhorn...................
16. May be worth mentioning the speaker is a Peavey Black Widow - well thought of drivers etc. Cheers.
17. Following on from the thread on here in praise of Strings Direct, there is 10% discount available on their website orders for all of October 2012. Enter the code 'XMASOCT' at the 'your basket' page to redeem Cheers, Pete.
18. Babz on ebay for Procells. Never had a problem with them, am guessing it was a faulty one off? I always change them when restringing my Rays, which can be between 3 and 12 months(!), and never had one go before that.
19. And still it goes on - Mike Love has now sacked Brian and Al Jardine from the Beach Boys!! Unbelievable - what an utter tw*t.
20. Size is 60 cms high x 58cms wide x 40 cms deep. Think thats the same as an Ampeg SVT410HE, as the flight case I used was built for the Ampeg and it was a snug fit! Cant give an exact weight I'm afraid as the cab is in storage, but its fairly lightweight for a 4x10 - probably estimate around 55lbs. There are two jack connectors on the rear panel. PM me your email and will send you another pic or two if you're interested. Its a great cab, especially for the price too. Cheers!
21. This is the second of my Loud cabs I'm selling. It si 4x10+horn, rated at 1200 watts / 4ohms. Will cope with most amp heads! Been a great cab for me - sounds ace, and fairly lightweight too, an easy one man lift. Good condition, a great cab for someone. Looking for £90 or near offer. I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull - possible help with delivery in say Yorkshire for fuel costs, but would much prefer cash on collection. Got a 1x15 for sale on here too if you're interested. Cheers.
22. Selling my spare cabs, as they're just not getting used. This is a Loud Inc 1x15, rated at 350 watts rms / 8 ohms. Never had it apart, but believe it is an Eminence driver.as thats what the company always used. Its in great condition, and is compact and relatively light, due I think to it's plywood construction. No way of weighing it, but reckon its in the 45/50 lb region - an easy one man lift anyway. Sounds great -used it with a Markbass LM2 and it performed well. Bargain at £65! (now reduced from £75! - no silly offers thanks, if it doesnt sell for near this then will keep it!) I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull - possible help with delivery for fuel costs in say Yorkshire area but would obviously much prefer cash on collection. NOW SOLD, pending payment. Cheers.
23. Brilliant. Apparently the Beach Boys are on this weeks 'Later with Jools' , BBC2 Tuesday and Friday. Don't know how they'll be now, but hopefully will have band made up of Brians current touring outfit, who are absolutely superb. Guess they'll be doing stuff from their recent album 'Thats why God made the radio'.
