Thought I'd try this here before the dreaded ebay. Korg SP200 digital stage piano. Full 88 keys. Velocity sensitive hammer action keyboard which faithfully reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano. 3 tuned touch curves to tailor the keyboard to your style, with 60 note polyphony. Sounds include Grand Piano 1&2, Electric piano 1&2, Vibes, Organ1&2, Strings ,Choir. Also built in metronome, headphone socket,reverb&chorus. This is a great stage piano in very good order. Couple of light marks on the case (nothing serious at all),but overall excellent condition. Comes complete with new proper (£25!) Korg power supply, and the instruction manual on CD. Included is a very robust aluminium flight case made especially for this keyboard. The case alone was £150, and the SP200 new was £499, NOW SOLD I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull, but could maybe deliver/meet for a bit of diesel in Yorkshire/North. Cheers.

How many valve amp owners carry a spare head in case of emergencies?

My band has an old Peavey PA head in the van-have used it for bass and its great! Also doubles as a spare guitar/monitor/main PA head (if really pushed!) The time I used it was when my Ashdown head kept blowing fuses, nothing to do with the valve in the preamp though. I used an SVT for years with no backup and it never missed a beat. Think I'd be more concerned with a digital type amp's reliability to be honest. As long as they're well maintained I would n't be overly worried with an all valve head - how many guitarists who use all valve Marshalls/ Fenders etc carry a spare head/combo? -

I have 2 GK amps - my regular gig amp is a 700RB-II which I've had for around 3 years with no probs whatsoever. Its loud,not heavy and has great eq for any cab I end up using. Only thing I'd consider swapping to would be a 1000RB just for the increased headroom when using one 8 ohm cab. Also got a 'vintage' RB800, which is my favourite amp (apart from my old long gone SVT). It's a keeper.

However there are some people who believe the 2 band sounds louder than the 3, but I think its all down to the tone control settings. Pick up height is deffo something to check for though.

If you get that Peavey head, it will give its full 450 watts output into a 4 ohm load. So your options are- 1) Get a 4 ohm 4x10 cab - this will mean your amp will be giving it's optimum output all the time,but you cant add another cab later. 2) Get an 8 ohm 4x10 cab - your amp will not give its full 450 watts into this (although it may still be loud enough for the moment),but you will then have the option of adding another 8 ohm cab (1x15 etc) at a later date for bigger gigs/when funds allow. The use of 2 cabs will be probably the best sound your amp will deliver. Maybe best thing is to see if you can arrange to try the amp with a 4ohm cab and then an 8 ohm one too. The difference may not be that marked, and maybe the one 4 ohm cab option will be all you ever need. Good luck!

Agree with you Bob. (Although your rig sounded fine to these ears on Saturday!) Nothing like a proper valve amp and an 8x10 - is that why they still crop up on major stages worldwide? Miss my Ampeg SVT rig, but my back doesn't. And am still not convinced about amps with just a preamp valve - for me its a combination of full valve preamp driving a valve power amp section that makes the sound.

Okay, up for sale is my Danelectro. It's a first reissue '58 Longhorn Pro , circa 1998-2001 I believe. Colour is 'blackburst' , a kind of subtle metalflake type finish which maybe doesn't look that special in the pics but is really striking in the flesh (have n't seen another one like this myself). The 'Pro' designation means it has the upgraded adjustable bridge and also upgraded tuners. Has two alnico 50's style lipstick pickups, coupled to two dual concentric vol/tone controls. Neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard with no fret wear, and feels just right. The edge binding to the body is 100% too-quite rare this! The scale length is 30", and this combined with the lightweight hollow body gives a great resonant sound, perfect for rootsy styles etc. (Optimum sound is all contols up full!) Condition is absolutely mint-can't find a mark on it. This bass is so much better than the current 58 Dead on reissues I've tried - maybe not exactly 'vintage correct' but definitely a lot more playable/usable. I'm looking for [b]£180[/b] for this beauty, which includes a decent gig bag too. (Was £225) Would prefer cash on collection, (am a bit reluctant to post but appreciate that may be necessary?) I'm based west of Hull in East Yorkshire -right next to the north towers of the Humber Bridge. I could maybe drive to meet up somewhere for the cost of my diesel, and do travel a bit (am in Manchester end of the month) with my band. PM me if you want more pics. Cheers, Pete.
