I've been sorting through my loft and came across this Cry Baby wah wah pedal that I've had since my guit*r playing days. Serial number seems to be 39424, with no other manufacturing details on it (Dunlop or Vox etc). It still works, but is missing a couple of rubber feet and the on/off switch is a bit stiff. Anyone know it's value / more info please? (Can't find much help on t'interweb.) Many thanks Pete.

Any small mixer/amp should be okay for what you need. I'd recommend Peavey - model XR684 or similar, which can be found s/h for around £150 to £200. Also Yamaha EMX range (512 etc) are good for the money, and sound fine too. Your speakers will easily manage 200 watts per side, in fact the maxim with PA amps seems to be having more watts than speaker handling so you don't need to run the amp flat out therefore getting lots of headroom for a clean clear sound. Unless the amp is seriously wound up full for a long time you should be okay. Good luck!

I usually just use the unput which sounds best without 'peaking' -eg on Trace Elliot gear there is a green for ok/red for peak led on the input stage. This lets you obtain the best signal without overloading the preamp. Dont think you will do any damage if you use the 'wrong' input for your instrument-just use your ears to get the best level&sound you can.

Played at an ace wedding in Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales last night. We do loads of weddings but this one was just one of those 'if Carlsberg did weddings ' type of gigs. Lovely couple&guests, great venue (Devonshire Town Hall)in a superb location, free bar etc etc. Wish they were all like this.

Abandon your 4x10 leanings and consider a Barefaced Compact. 1x15 but sound fine to these ears, and only a 26lb lift. In fact buy two!

I had a 135 head many moons ago. Was n't great as I remember,or very loud either. Maybe it was just a bad one? The stock Fender speakers of that era barely were up to the job- factory upgrades available were usually JBL's (maybe EV's later too?) which were far better but heavier. Bassman heads are starting to rise in value, so if you can get one in good order at a good price then may be an investment. The cabs are n't that sought after,but do match up nicely for a classic look.
