  1. Have n't really tried it out - was bought for me as a present, but having recently moved I can't keep amassing more guitars! It is vaguely Rick-ish, 2 pickups etc. And its black and white! Medium weight i.e. not heavy, and bit of twang to it? Such a subjective thing! Unusual and rare beast though. Both the case and the bass are as new. Any offers around a ton? (Got to be worth that - the case is £30 worth alone?)
  2. Am selling this rather funky / retro / wierd (delete as you think necessary!) DC Montana 77 4 string. It was a recent unwanted gift, and is virtually unplayed - still has plastic protective covering on scratchplate etc. Comes complete with brand new fitted hard case too. Looking for any offers around £125, cash on collection please. I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull, but travel around a bit, so could possibly help with delivery etc.
  3. Am near Hull, East Yorkshire. How does £20 the lot sound?
  4. These have to go soon - any offers for the lot? Cheers.
  5. Just checked the lot - all the magazines are there, but a cant find a few of the cds. So come on make me an offer someone?
  6. Continuing my loft clearout, I have a COMPLETE set of 'Guitarist' magazines, nearly 300 of 'em! These date from issue number 1 in June 1984(!), right through to the August 2007 issue. Although mainly for our six string pluckers, the mag has catered for bassists too, with reviews and articles etc. Also includes all the relevant accompanying CDs. Everything in excellent nick. An excellent reference source spanning 23 years. These go for around the £1.50 to £2.50 mark per copy on ebay, but won't be looking for that for the set - anyone want to make me an offer? Don't want to split them, just sell them as a job lot. I'm in East Yorkshire, near Hull, but travel around a bit - mainly in the North etc, so could maybe help with delivery if possible. Any interest welcomed - cheers.
  7. A collection of 'Bassist' magazines for sale. Any offers ? Or even a trade for something??? Live in East Yorkshire, but travel around a bit (mainly the North,Midlands,Scotland etc) so could maybe arrange a meet to deliver etc? Cheers!
  8. Are you interested in a cash deal, not a swap? Any pics? Where are you located? Thanks Pete.
  9. To throw in my sixpen'orth - Just look around on big stages,TV shows,DVD's etc, and see what keeps coming up time and time again- the mighty Ampeg SVT rig. This 300 watt all valve amp coupled with the 8x10 speaker cab is still THE industry standard, some nearly 40 years after its introduction in the late sixties. This is surely the definitive set-up. In my 20 years of bass playing, it is the only amp that completely does the job, and if well looked after is supremely reliable too. Hire companies etc would n't use them if not. Unfrortunately I had to let mine go some years back - due to practical considerations of size/weight/transport . Since then, I've tried most stuff out there,a lot of it okay. The closest being a Gallien Krueger 800RB - another old design( but no valves in sight ), small and light but with a superb fat old school sound and extremely reliable. Also had an Ashdown ABM500 with a valve in the preamp which was okay too. Still hanker after the SVT experience again though - jump at the chance to play through one and you'll never turn back!
