I have the identical model. Love the sounds - acoustic piano and the Wurlitzer are my faves. Like you I only play it at home, but it’s a wonderful thing - the action is perfect for me, so realistic. Was considering buying a s/h acoustic piano but really glad I got this, shouldn’t ever need to upgrade ( especially with my limited keyboard skills).

Sky Arts and other music related programmes

I watched the Radiohead gig too, well for about 20 mins which was all I could manage. Let’s just say it’s not my kinda thing and I’ll stop there. -
Don’t think so Pete, unless it was before I joined in 2010/11? Some friends of mine did it a couple of years ago, said it was a good event (held in Helmsley.)

Agreed - Mike Campbell is one of my favourite guitar players. (could still have done without Stevie Nicks though). -
We’re doing Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on October 26th Lozz if that’s any good for you? Drop me a PM if you fancy going. Cheers, Pete.

Thanks Paul, very kind. Hope you’re well mate. Pete.

Yup, it’s ‘The ELO Experience’ Dave. I’ve been with them now for over ten years! Regarding gigs north of the border, we have Dundee and Edinburgh planned for March 2022. Drop me a PM a bit nearer the time if you’re interested mate. Cheers, Pete.

Cheltenham Hall last night. Fantastic venue although not the easiest for sound. It was a long day there and back from Yorkshire, but worth it!

I remember someone in a (loud) local band customising the guitarist's amplifier by repositioning the volume pot on the spline, so to make the maximum setting effectively '8' instead of '10'. Think it worked for a few gigs before he twigged. 😆

I’d agree, although the cost of getting one ( especially for a larger band) may prove to be cost prohibitive? Also would mean the lead singist being let loose on the controls...🤣

Anth bought a phone from me that I’d advertised on here. Absolute pleasure to deal with, replied to all my messages and paid promptly too. All the best Anth! Pete.

I have a ‘matching’ GK main rig - 1001RB into a Neo 4x10, and also use a GK MB800 ( or occasionally my lovely old GK 800RB ) into a gen 1 Barefaced Compact. ( I also have been known to use my old Loud Inc 4x10 on occasion, which is probably the best ‘bang for the buck’ I’ve owned.) Doing theatre shows I did want something that looks okay as well as sounding good, and for me the all GK pairing fits the bill just fine. Although a long time GK user, I’m still open to change though - if finances allowed I’d probably go down the Aguilar route as all the ones I’ve heard sound pretty damned good. A BF 4x10 (or two 2x10’s) would also tempt me, again if finances / gigs improve.

These are great, along with others like the Mackie and Behringer models. However, please beware - someone I worked with connected his ‘inline’ rather than using the auxiliary out from the mixer, which meant that when he turned the monitor output up it also affected the FOH level too. Took us ages to work out why his mic was significantly louder than at soundcheck, tw*t!

We’ve got gigs all over the place in the coming week, and hoping the situation will be resolved soon. We were in Stevenage last night, and coming home to Yorkshire up the A1 noticed that most of the fuel stations were open and all had supplies. Refuelling at night seems to save the hassle of queues that we saw on the way to the gig.

Yup, were from me Jon. All the best with your good work mate. Cheers, Pete.

Singers who don't understand how music works

Those BC members old enough will remember similar goings on listening to the famous ‘The Troggs Tapes’. -
Another shout out for Ronnie - this is the Zemaitis I always associate him with, he had a few though!

Am amazed he’s still in the band to be honest. Maybe you should try suggesting vocal lines for him, the higher parts should become easier with your bass up his ar*e.... -
Exactly this. Nathan East is a wonderful musician, also nice to hear a guitar played using a great clean sound. Mind you, nearly didn’t watch it due to Paul Gilbert having a clip on tuner on show......🤣

Do you need strings? I often have a few used D’Addario sets spare, always plenty of life left in them and cut for a Fender Precision headstock / scale.

Cars with boot big enough for small cab and bass
casapete replied to natjag's topic in General Discussion
My brother has had a few Octavia estates, and must admit that the first thing I noticed was the boot lip issue. The extra space from having the (near) vertical rear door on the estate is handy though, and makes for easier loading/stacking of gear. Great cars otherwise though. Having had estates all of my musical life, I think I'd find it hard to go back to hatch / booted designs now, although must admit Barefaced cabs have made me consider it. -
