why the heck don't pickup manufacturers stick to the same dimensions for pickup screw positions and case dimensions? I bought a Haussel J that is quite a bit smaller than anything I've come across before – so what? I hear you say – well, the pickguard just doesn't look right now, with a sizeable gap around, compared to the previous J (Delano) and just to make things worse the magnet pairs don't line up correctly I also bought a Haussel MM which is also slightly different to a stock one and the Delano MM OK, rant over 😶

John East does one, although it doesn't seem to be on his new website – I got a couple from him last year so might be worth an email https://reverb.com/au/item/14879048-john-east-bli-01-low-battery-indicator-black

How I turned my £30 P Bass Copy into a Pro Instrument
Fishman replied to greghagger's topic in Bass Guitars
What a way to start the week! (I know it's already Tuesday, no wise-cracks necessary) What @Cat Burrito said (three posts above) – this thread has shown a hint of 'angry mob with pitchforks' – chill the feck out people Mods: Maybe we need a sticky or whatever to lay down some rules about self-promotion via Youtube etc so we can avoid hurting people's feelings- 119 replies

Nice one – you can't rush these things 😉

Thanks man, nice piece that sums things up perfectly – I love all that mis-spelling of artists names, always makes me wonder what the heck was going on I agree with you about the bass on the second one – I'm sure my vinyl copy from decades ago doesn't have that cymbal at the start, will have to dig it out and check 🙃

Which is best? love the symbol at the start of the second one

Now… what can I make with the old Wal board? -
Great work Andy! Yes, I'll do a sound clip hopefully in the very near future 😎

Some leftover oak worktop, an hour or so in the garden with the chopsaw and drill/hole saw, and a bit of rasping and sanding, plus some sticky-back rubber from hobbycraft and some osmo oil to finish…

Fab – a lovely bit of wood!

I did ask Paul for a bridge but he said he couldn't provide one – I did get a string retainer and a case though

+1 for the steam approach – I saw a multi-dinged Stingray headstock sorted this way

@Andyjr1515 is the top of the neck asymmetrical, or is it waiting to be carved?

How does this differ from a Japan Mustang?

My replacements were just last year, so there is a good chance he has more
