  1. Hi all, I am not sophisticated enough to spot much difference between string tone and anyway once you put the new ones on the old ones which are by definition old, are long gone so how can anyone compare? So instead interested to know bestvalue - longest life/£. I don't sweat much and only my wit is acidic. What would the team recommend? The bass is usually hanging up net to the toilet for weeks between gigs and exposed to the atmosphere, which althoughoccasionally aromatic is not toxic. Cheers, S.

  2. Yes. Apparently all this goodness comes with:

    • Neck: Maple/mahogany through-the-body

    • Fingerboard: Ebony, 500mm (20”) radius

    • Frets: 24

    • Scale length: (889mm) 35”

    • Pickups: Two Alnico V double coils, piezo pickups in bridge

    • Controls: Master volume, piezo volume, pickup balance, active three-band EQ

    • Bridge: Brass BPZ-7 type with five piezo-loaded saddles/string anchors

  3. Toe in the water. New bass means I am not much playing this. It does sound awesome, really very good indeed and as good as any 5 string I have had, and I have had a few! Well made and finished. Piezo pickup adds extra dimension of presence. There are a couple of marks to the finish, localised chips only, but otherwise great condition. Nice neck grain and other spiffing features.

    Based junc 11 of M25.
