The RH 750 amp RS cabs from TC Electronics do it for me, traded from Ashdown and it's a country mile better.

I've got a "tanglewater" and a UK original and love them both. Very little to choose between them, certainly not £2k difference in quality or sound. I'd say the neck construction on the "real" one is a touch better, the joints between the 3 sections on the tanglewater are just noticeable but apart from that, it plays and feels like an expensive bass. Well done Overwater :-)

Just traded basses with Jack, great guy to deal with, clear communication, bass arrived in great nick and very well packaged. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with Jack again.

I've just sold an Ashdown mag300 head and a mag 4 x 10 can for £185, that would do the job perfectly, you should be able to pick that kind of thing up within your budget quite easily.

I bought it and fcuking love it, best sounding amp and cabs I've ever heard.

I've just got a new TC rig, Rh750, 212 & 210 and have fallen in love straight out the box, got it from Mark too (top fella), it arrived on Wednesday and I spent 4 hours fiddling with eq and all the other functions (as you do) only to realise the "pre set" tone is absolutely spot on, don't find it at all boomy although I can imagine if you did wind the bottom end on past 12 o'clock then it possibly could run away with you, at last nights "debut" gig I rolled the bottom off to about 10.30 and it was sweet as a nut. My only small gripe would be the lack of rubber feet on the cabs, I know it's got this super tough none slip coating on but I don't much fancy standing them on the pavement while we loaded the van. Apart from that, love it
